A true sign that spring has sprung. A bluebell covered forest floor really is one of the most beautiful sights to explore. Bluebells typically flower in Southern England from mid April to late May, giving a window of around 6 weeks to catch them at their best. Here are some of Hertfordshire’s Bluebell hotspots.

PROTECTED SPECIES
Bluebells are a protected species in the UK. Protect these beautiful plants by sticking to designated paths and never pick the flowers to take home.
Getting your children involved in cooking has many benefits:

Method:
1) Pop the pasta in a saucepan and cook to the packet instruction.
2) In the meantime get your chef to prepare the rest of the ingredients using a child’s safety knife. There are many online.
3) Sample a little of the ingredients as you go along.
4) Talk about taste textures and smells
5) Once the pasta is cooked, drain, and run under cold water.
6) Presentation is everything here.
7) Using a clear cup or Tupperware container layer the ingredients starting with the pasta.
Food presentation:
The clear cup is everything! We eat with our eyes and the lovelier the meal looks the more likely your child is to eat it. Especially as they have created it themselves.
This recipe is a winner and has been used many times.
Your child will become more confident with food and more likely to try new things. If possible, encourage them to touch smell and where possible taste the ingredients. Reassure them that if they don’t like the ingredient then they can discard it and don’t have to eat it. Remember continuity is key keep presenting the ingredient to them encouraging them to keep trying.
It encourages healthy eating habits .Your child is more likely to avoid the unhealthy snacks if they have spent time making their own meal. It keeps them interested in eating. If possible, ask them to choose a recipe once a week once a fortnight and cook it together. Having choices is more likely to encourage your child to try new things. Having recipes where you can see the picture is great at getting your child engaged.
Most importantly it’s fun! No one is trying to be on Master Chef here! Take the time to engage with one another, chat and catch up. A relaxed atmosphere around meal times encourages positive food relationships. Eating good healthy food is important for positive mental and physical health outcomes.
