Shop How did you come up with the name for your Etsy shop? "All the Pretties was dreamt up around the idea of the novel The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson, a childhood favourite of mine. I wanted a name that felt whimsical and nostalgic. Something that honoured the first pair of earrings I created, clay rose studs. Four months later my husband came home and I showed him the creations I made that day. I squealed “look at all the pretties I made today!” At that very moment the name All the Pretties was born. Six years late, I still love it. The rest is history." Favorite holiday tradition? "My favourite holiday tradition is a nighttime drive to look at all the twinkling Christmas lights. When my mom would do small craft fairs when I was younger, she would call her both “circles in time” as she loves to upcycle. Shop Why did you start your Etsy shop? "Jaws was my Bengal cat. Around the age of 9, he was diagnosed with melanoma in his left eye. He had an enucleation in May 2016 to rule out the cancer. That's when I created this shop to help us with the vet bills and all the care Jaws needed. Unfortunately, Jaws left us peacefully on Monday June 8, 2020, alongside his big sister Mya. Shop Where do you make your items? “In my art room at my home in rural New Brunswick.” How did you come up with the name for your Etsy shop? "My shop name is just my name and art, Rebekah Jane Art. I use to sign my name "Bekah" on my artwork, but I realized my first and middle name sounded nice together, so I changed signing my art to Rebekah Jane now, which is why I named my business, Rebekah Jane Art.” Favorite holiday tradition? “The night before Christmas Eve, my son, husband and I watch the original cartoon "The Grinch who Stole Christmas" then we bring our mattress beside the Christmas tree, read Christmas stories and sleep beside the tree and woodstove. “

Shop Why did you start your Etsy shop? “I began Tall Pines while I was working full-time in architecture and getting frustrated, creatively. I wanted a place to indulge in my art without any ulterior motives beyond making objects and products that people could enjoy. I was also missing the social connections to other makers like me and have found that, through my acquaintance with other local Etsy makers, I've formed some of the best friendships of my life. Over the past 7 years, my little business has evolved to teaching workshops, designing making functional objects, and creating original art. Shop What’s your favorite part of being an Etsy seller? “My favorite part about being an Etsy seller is the opportunity it provides me to share my artwork and creativity. I have always loved collection stationery products, so I felt like it was the perfect match.”
How did you come up with the name of your Etsy Shop? “It started at a little tea shop in downtown Calgary. That’s where I spent most of my time building my portfolio. The name is a reminder of how it began.” What is on your Christmas list this year? “Stationary, of course :)” Where do you make your items? “All my items are made in my little studio home. I outsource all my prints to the local print shop, assemble and trim to size at home. I love that I have a mini-print shop at home.”

Shop How did you come up with the name for your Etsy shop? “My first clay creations were pit fired at my teacher's forest cottage. It was an exciting event for me, as it was a group firing. There were many known and experienced potters. We had a pick-nick on the side and it was fun and awesome to listen them chatting and watching the WISP of smoke above our pit. I was repeating in my mind:"Just wisper on! wisper on!" I was afraid that it will stop burning as pit was covered with metal sheet and I had no idea how the fire can continue to burn with out any air! :) It did! :) Next year, when I opened my Etsy store, I remembered this exciting day and that's where the name of my shop came from.
