A grieving Etobicoke mom whose son and his girlfriend were killed in a tragic motorcycle crash last week says she is touched by the outpouring of love and support her family has been receiving from his friends. Mykel Henry-Wright, 24, and passenger Cassandra Tanovich, 22, died on Aug. 28 when their motorcycle collided with a car around 8:30 p.m. on Burnhamthorpe Road East, just west of Tomken Road in Mississauga.

The couple was out for a ride when the crashed occurred. A 77-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. More than 500 mourners paid their respect to the “popular and well-liked” Henry-Wright at a memorial service last weekend at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Eighth Street. His friends have raised almost $6,000 to help his family with funeral expenses.
