In February hundreds of high school students will gather at TTC stations and other loca-
tions over the course of a day to canvass on behalf of a local homeless shelter and the estimated 1,000 youth who make use of its services every year. Tokens 4 Change (T4C) raises
tens of thousands of dollars annually for Etobicoke-based Youth Without Shelter (YWS), which offers support and counselling to young people between the ages of 16 and 24

Charmaine Headley is lending her two decades-plus choreography experience in west African and Caribbean indigenous dance to a performance next week dedicated to the 219 Muslim and Christian Nigerian schoolgirls who remain missing after being kidnapped last April by Islamist extremist group Boko Haram. Dance Immersion presents Queens Calling at Harbourfront Centre Theatre on Friday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1 and 8 p.m. It is a celebration of sisterhood, kinship and womanhood from eight diverse female choreographers, including Headley, from Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. Meme#Faith#Hope#... is the name of Headley’s 10-minute contemporary dance piece.
