Staff from Royal LePage Porritt Real Estate this month presented a cheque for $3,000 to
Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter – the first of two such presentations last week to distribute funds raised at May’s local National Garage Sale for Shelter events.
This year on Saturday, May 10, more than 100 Royal LePage offices across Canada hosted the fundraising garage sales, with each donating 100 per cent of the proceeds from those sales
to local shelters serving women and children who have experienced family violence. This year’s event marked Royal LePage Porritt’s first time >>>funds, page 16

This year patrons can soak up the sights, sounds and smells they’ve always loved with a few new additions. If you’re a country guy or gal at heart then you’ll feel right at home in the new Northern Comfort Saloon. This venue boasts a raised stage where live performances from country artists such as Leah Daniels, Marshall Dane and the Boom Chucka Boys will take place. The large saloon also includes an indoor and outdoor seating area with plenty of space to test out your line dancing skills, post or pre-alcoholic beverage. Near the patio is a section for the brave souls who want to take the bull by the horns and climb aboard the mechanical bull. According to general manager of the CNE, David Bednar, this is the chance for Torontonians to “let out their inner cowboy >>>food, page 17
