Andaftersearchingforlonghours, Lexiswasn'tabletofindanythingand itstartedtolookkindofscaryforher Shethoughttoherself,whatifthere issomethingshecouldbedoingright nowthatwouldchangethetrajectory ofherdaughter'shealthandprogress?
Lexiskeptgettingherdaughterinto differentformsoftherapy,physical therapy,occupationaltherapy,andall thetherapies,andshemetsomegreat peoplewhiledoingso.Andshewould talktootherparentsorcaregiversand findthattheyhadaverysimilar experience.
Sooverayearandahalf,itstartedto becomemoreofacuriosityofwanting todosomething.However,therewas likeatotalfearoftryingtocreatea solutionandnotknowinghowtodoit andhavingitfail.Untilone-dayLexis metonemore.
Sheshares,“Ijusttookonemore personwhowascarryingherchildwho wastallerthanheroverhershoulder becausetheyweresavingupfora wheelchairintoanaquaphysical therapyappointment.Andonmyway homeIwaslike,youknowwhat?I'm justgonnatry,I'mjustgoingtodothe bestthatIcan.Myfearoftryingand failingwasovercomebymyfearofnot tryingatall.”
Lexiswantedtomakesurethatshe wascreatingasolution.Asan entrepreneur,shethinksanyonewho startsacompanyshouldhavetheright concept.Butwhatshedidinsteadof shootingfromthehiporgoingfrom hergutinstinct,shestarted interviewinganyonewhowouldtalkto herabouttheirjourney,careto equipment,ifitwasjustsymptoms, whattheircommondiagnosiswaswith thosesymptoms,andwhatwasdifficult fortheminacquiringallofthose thingstofindwherethefoundationof theproblemwas.So,shecouldbuild onit.
Theconceptsheoriginallyhad, actuallywillprobablyrolloutinayear ortwobecauseit'sprettycool.Butshe realizedthatitwasn'twheresheshould startbecausewhatshefoundinthose conversationswasthateverysingle
personhadsomethingtheynolonger needed.Itwasmaybeabandageor medicaltapeorbedpadsoreventhe largeequipment,anditwasjustsitting.
Nooneknewiftheycouldthrowit awayorwheretheycoulddonateit. Medicalequipmentwasatrickything andtheneveryoneneededsomething theycouldn'tget,andeveryonefelt lonelyandisolatedintheirexperience.
