FRIDA'S BEACH HOUSE & PATRÓN TEQUILA

A personal invitation from one of the finest tequila makers in the world, to one of our very own.

Maui’s ambassadors for Mexican cuisine, Frida’s Beach House, and one of the finest tequilas in the world, Patrón Tequila, are joining forces to make history. After being extended a personal invitation from the Patrón Tequila directors, the Ellman Family recently visited the Patrón Hacienda. They learned that the process for tequilamaking started since 1989. The Silver Patrón, Grand Patrón, Añejo Patrón, Reposado Patrón and Roca Patrón are the only ones (9 in total), elaborated at the

Hacienda. They take big pride from their eco-friendly reverse osmosis irrigation system, to the agave byproduct recycle.

Most importantly, they care deeply about the people involved in making their product, who participate from beginning to end. The resulting mixture is fermented for three days, distilled, and in some cases, aged in handmade barrels. Two months at

minimum for Patrón Reposado and all the way up to seven years for Añejo 7 Años, their oldest tequila. A small-batch spirit is then bottled, and shipped to the rest of the world. The tequila itself may be the most obvious element in their craft story, but in Mexico, glass artisans measure and mold their perfectly imperfect Patrón Tequila bottles. To complete the process for their

wonderful tequila, they also sustainably harvest their fine Portuguese cork, and work with French crystal, Lalique, to design a beautiful crystal stopper. To continue with their exciting venture, Mark picked and shipped a very special type of blend from the Tequila Patron’s family, to our beloved Frida’s Beach House. Is the grand Añejo Hungarian Oak Barrel aged for 31 months, a distinct blend for sure. Only offered by Patrón Tequila to restaurants that truly enjoy being part of their community, and who also are strong supporters of their environmentally friendly practices that have been recognized by the Mexican government as well. Such special tequila will be offered to our clients starting August of 2017. In the meantime, we invite you to try our Patrón Tequila French Oak Barrel aged for 12 months and 18 months, currently being served at our restaurants.
