The body of Sub-Inspector Hano Chatung was found in his vehicle (Registration number AR-01H-9709) this morning at around 7.30am at 6 Mile, between Itanagar -Naharlagun road, with a gunshot wound on his head. According to Capital Complex Superintendent of Police Dr A Koan, passersby called the Itanagar Police Station when they saw that the vehicle with the body had crashed and fallen into a drain. Reportedly, SI Chatung was heading for his morning duty at Doimukh Police Station from Itanagar where he was posted, and was alone in the vehicle when the incident occurred. ET CAPSULES State BJP reshuffles Itanagar, 14 Sept: In a major reshuffle in the BJP state unit under its state president Tapir Gao for the session 2016-2019, former general secretary Dominic Tadar has been endorsed as the party’s vice president, along with Kenyir Ringu, Nani Ljie, Nakul Chai, Wanglong Rajkumar and Tame Phassang. Former corporate head and journalist-turned politician Jarpum Gamlin has been appointed as general secretary (GS), while former party general secretary B R Waghe will continue with his position. Further, Tagin Siga, Ojing Tasing, Doni Nich, Lelong Lingfa, Dr Taba Nirmali and Hollai Wangsa have been appointed as secretary, along with other officer bearers here today at BJP office. The reshuffle has been announced after delay of almost four months of appointment of former MP and national general secretary Tapir Gao as state president on April last. Tinsukia boy commits suicide

Tinsukia, Sep 14: Sensation prevailed in Tinsukia after a boy named Akshay Dev Amrit committed suicide in his home by hanging himself in the ceiling fan. The deceased had a mobile shop at TDA market in Tinsukia. Police are investigating the case. (Correspondent)
