Holden is different— it always has been and always will be. This brand was created to fill a void in the market for progressive asthetics and companies with a conscience. From its inception, Holden has sought a singular goal: creating products that make people happier and healthier in the pursuit of a life well led. 2012 marks a major milestone for Holden. A lot has happen in the past decade— it’s not the same brand Mikey and Scott founded all those years ago. We think smarter, bigger and more inclusive. We don’t live in the past but use it to help guide the future, embracing our journey with the same youthfull excitment as day one. Ten years, and we’re just getting started. This year also marks the inaugural Holden Fall line, designed to bring our collection deeper into the wardrode of our consumer and closer to our goal of being a four-season brand.

Holden has been at the forefront of innovation, design and development in our market for a decade now, but the best validation we can ask for is how we make our customers happy. Intro

Timeless In An Instant To celebrate 10 years of creative and cutting edge outerwear Holden is partnering with The Impossible Project to create a photography program that will serve as our creative backbone and the visual language for the Fall / Winter ’12 season’s marketing platform.

In February 2008 Polaroid announced that it would withdraw from analog instant film production. In 2010 The Impossible Project saved analog instant photography from extinction by inventing and producing totally new instant film materials to be used in Polaroid cameras and in turn helped in preventing more than 300,000,000 Polaroid cameras from becoming obsolete. Thanks to their diligent efforts, The Impossible team has saved this beautiful format of analog photography. For Holden to work with Impossible is a natural partnership, not only have we always loved using analog photography in our campaigns, but their commitment to supporting the creative communities fits our values. One part of the HOLDEN x Impossible collaboration is we will be working with 10 well known photographers to shoot and capture their vision of our independent lifestyle. The photos will be used in Holden brand messaging and creative displays as the cornerstone of a multinational event series in top galleries around the world, as well as web and print campaigns. Photographers will have photo tee shirts and prints for sale at the gallery shows.

When we had an idea to make a beautiful leather case for our Impossible project SX-70 cameras reissue collab, Tanner Goods came to mind immediately. Known for their hand-crafted goods produced with time tested tools and heritage techniques, Tanner’s team of craftsmen produced every case by hand in their studios in the Northwest. The Tanner Goods x HOLDEN leather camera case utilizes the most premium leather sourced domestically in America. Cut from vegetable tanned English bridle

The Impossible team will also be refurbishing 20 vintage Polaroid SX-70 cameras. We will also be co-producing custom HOLDEN film for the project that the invited photographers and enthusiasts alike can purchase, use and enjoy.

American leather, this case will age beautifully and gain character over years of use. Holden strives to produce products with a timeless quality. That’s why we chose Tanner Goods to produce this beautiful case, co-designed to last for a lifetime.

Our Community

Holden was never about a person, it was about an idea— it was about making the best products we could for the community we live in and encouraging people in pursuit of their passions. We proudly support a team of professional athletes and photographers as they explore what’s possible on the snow. We continue to join forces with other brands we respect so that we can all help sustain and expand each other’s great efforts. And we engage directly with our consumers through both digital and trandtional channels, utilizing their feedback and facilitating their efforts with programs like Holden Helps. In this way, Holden hopes to nurture the community and contribute positively to the entire market. The whole is always greater than some of its parts, and we know that Holden would not exist without the support of our riders, photographers, designers, staff members, shops, fans, and loyal patrons. Rather than elevate one of these elements and market our product on that basis, Holden elevates the whole by giving back to the community that has sustained us for so long.

Stussy and Holden have teamed up to create a capsule collection of active lifestyle streetwear products. The brief: “what are the perfect items for a one week road trip from the peaks of the Northwest to the sandy shores of Southern California?” The answer: 5 items functional enough to keep you warm and dry, yet flexible enough to provide layering options to go from snow to surf. Fashionable enough that you look good and stylish when you roll out for a night on the town. The perfect kit: Fun, Fashionable, functional and flexible just like the life we lead.

Holden loves coffee and loves Portland. Heart brews some of Portland’s finest coffee. “We roast our coffee to the lightest degree possible, while fully developing the flavors each coffee has to offer. We strive to purchase our green coffee according to the harvest cycles of each producing country.” With a similar approach to business and life, Holden x Heart teams up for a delectable cup of goodness. A limited run of Holden x Heart coffee will be available at trade shows and at Hear in Portland, Oregon.

As in life “You only get out what you put in.” The HOLDEN x Hershel collaboration supports this truth. The perfect four-bag collection was designed to pack, hold and organize everything needed for the journey ahead. These premium executions of Hershel products combine the quality and eco-friendlier touch of Holden with the classic design and precise restraint that Hershel has mastered. Stretch Twill

This Kurabo denim chambray has subtle color neps running through it to give it texture and depth.

This polyester fleece is the perfect layering soluction on or off the mountain. It will keep you warm and move moisture away from your body.

This 100% polyester twill is a favorite because of its exceptional durability and dynamic stretch properties. A midweight fabric featuring a high-performance solvent-free lamination speced with either 10k or 20k waterproofness. It’s 80/20 PFOA-free water-repellency treatment drastically limits the harmful emissions caused by traditional DWR applications.

Melton Wool Classic Melton wool finished with a DWR water repellancy to shed water while keeping you warm.

Wool Gingham A 70% wool 30% nylon gingham plaid designed and manufactured in Japan. Its finished with a 20K waterproof lamination.

French Terry Designed to look and feel like non perfomrance fleece. However, this french terry has a special blend of polyester and cotton so it performs to keep you warm and dry when used as layering on or off the mountain. Its properties include; high moisture wicking, quick dry and antimicrobial.

Twill Heavy duty 100% cotton right hand twill finished with a DWR water repellancy.

False Twist Nylon Rip-Stop A blend of 66% nylon and polyester. This ultra light weight ripstop is woven to give the look of a matte finish crepe like material, with a crisp crimpy appearance. It comes in a variety of finshes, down proof with DWR, 10k and 20k waterproofness. Its 80/20 PFOA-free waterrepellency treatment drastically limits the harmful emissions caused by traditional DWR applications.

Linings S-Cafe Recycled Coffee Lining

Plaid

Denim 13 oz. Kurabo denim in a variety of washes, treated with a special process DWR finish. Its water-repellant properties will keep water from just soaking in on rainy days.

Genuine Snow Denim Denim is an institution— people always have and always will wear it. In recognition of this, we’ve developed a 11 oz, 100% cotton-twill Genuine Denim that’s both durable and authentic. It wears and fades like real denim, yet it’s still exceptionally functional in winter environments, with a rating of 10,000mm waterproofness and 10,000g/m2 breathability.

Stretch Denim-Like Used exclusively in our Men’s and Women’s Standard Denim Pants, this mid-weight polyester/nylon blend fabric features the authentic denim look and dynamic stretch properties which are achieved through a mechanical construction that allows natural stretch and give. Developed to be a competitively priced denim option, the Classic Stretch Denim is versatile and functional, and the “eco-friendlier” solvent-free lamination functions at 10,000mm waterproofness and 10,000g/m2 breathability. This fabric is also PFOA and PFOS free.

Celebrating plaid’s enduring place in the market, we developed our own oversized plaid pattern. Featuring a soft hand feel and classic work-wear look, this custom fabric is both durable and authentic. It is used both laminated with 10k waterproofness and unlaminated for a softer feel.

Soft Shell A Japanese made material with a 20K waterproof laminate sandwiched between a twill face and polar fleece backing. This 4-way super-stretch material will keep you warm and dry while being soft against the skin.

Our “S-Café” lining is a true breakthrough in the “eco-friendlier” arena. Made by recycling coffee grounds and weaving it into fabrics it has exceptional technical qualities for high-end function. These include odor control, fast drying, moisture wicking and of course its environmental up sides. It is composed of 45% s.café poly, 36% poly and 19% viscose and is then brushed for softness. This fabric is Bluesign®-approved (this guarantees the highest possible levels of environmental, health, and safety consciousness— read more at Blue-sign.org)

Recycled Micro Ox Inspired by the clean, utilitarian fabrics found in military uniforms, this hardworking oxford weave is made of 100% recycled poly and has a rich, smooth character that drapes and moves naturally. It has a 10k solvent free lamination, PFOA free DWR and is produced in a factory that is Bluesign®-certified (this guarantees the highest possible levels of environmental, health, and safety consciousness— read more at Blue-sign.org).

This 65% polyester 35% cotton blend has the look and feel of a classic streetwear material. It’s a mid weight fabric with a smooth face perfect for shedding snow and rain. Finished with both a 10k or 20k waterproof laminate sure to keep to you dry. Its 80/20 PFOA-free water-repellency treatment drastically limits the harmful emissions caused by traditional DWR applications.

Outfitted with Toray’s top of the line Dermizax™ laminate technology for excellent wind and waterproofness and superior breathability (20,000mm and 10,000g/m2), this kevlar reinforced material has the appearance of being a heathered poplin and the subtle beauty you would expect from a Japanese made material.

A special process was used to create this vintage look heavy weight rip-stop. The material is 100% nylon and is finished 3 different ways to meet your specific performance needs. Sherpa Soft, warm and cozy. Used in many of our jacket linings to make sure you stay warm with out a lot of restricting weight or bulk.

Taffeta Recycled polyester taffetta that is manufactured with a smooth comfortable hand and wicking qualities built in.

Trims Waterproof Leather We choose to use 100% genuine waterproof leather for a reason; we make garments that are built to last. While most companies opt for faux leathers that will crack, turn white, wear out and disintegrate with time, the leather trims found on our garments heels, belt loops, patches, etc. will weather well, protect your garments and last a lifetime.

Providing a different performance package than our Winter gear these products offer a range from simple DWR’s, (durable water repellency) to full waterproof functionality with a wide selection of insulations and style to meet your off hill needs from the first signs of Fall all the way to springs first blossoms.
