How to Fix Google Nest Not Working Issues?

Google Home's Nest is the second generation of its Home Mini product, a small round speaker that you can place in your home and connect to a larger Nest Hub or use it for your own radio or personal assistant. If your Google Home settings get stuck searching for devices, don't recognize your voice, or can't connect to smart home devices, fix the problem with these steps.

Google Nest General troubleshooting If you've checked all the steps above and still can't find your speaker or display, try one of the steps below and then search for your device. If you still can't find it, continue to the next step.

Step 1. Restart Google Home.  

Unplug the power cord from your speaker or display.

Reconnect the power cord to your speaker or display.

Step 2. Force close and restart the Google Home application.       

From an iOS device Press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small previews of the apps you used recently.

Select the application you want to close and swipe to the top of the screen.

From an Android device Open your device's Settings app.

Touch Apps & notifications then the Google Home app.

Tap Force stop.

Step 3. Try to manually connect to the SSID of Google Home from your phone or tablet's Wi-Fi settings   



Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device.

Open the list of available WiFi networks and search for an available network named 'GoogleHomeXXXX' (where XXXX is a random number).

Note: If you have previously configured your device and have not factory reset it since it was disconnected from the network, look for the device name you assigned to it in the list of available networks on your mobile device (ie Kitchen Home).

If you can successfully connect to the SSID of Google Home in your WiFi settings, open the Google Home app and try to configure the device.

Google Nest Advanced troubleshooting If you still can't find your speaker or display in the Devices section of the Google Home app, try the following:    

Try using another compatible mobile device to set up your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.

Move the speaker or screen to a different location (ie a room). This will rule out any interference in the area that may be causing the SSID to not broadcast properly.

Perform a factory reset.

Or your mobile device or tablet, turn Wi-Fi off and on again. Reopen the Google Home app and try setting up again.

How to Fix Google Home doesn't recognize voice?

Your Google Home recognizes your voice and can recognize all the members of your family by theirs.

Sometimes, however, that system crashes and Google Home can't differentiate you from anyone.

If that happens, retraining Google Home to recognize your voice again will usually fix the problem.

For both iPhone and Android phones 1. Open the Google Home application.

2. Click on your personal icon in the lower right corner.

3. At the bottom of the Google Assistant heading, tap More settings.

4. Tap Assistant in the menu bar at the top.

5. Touch Voice Match> Teach your Assistant your voice again.

6. When a pop-up asks if you want to cancel or retrain, choose to retrain.

7. Follow prompts to speak to repeat training phrases.

How to Fix Google Nest Not Responding Many different problems can cause a Nest Mini to be unresponsive. Try the classics like restarting the Nest Mini and checking the volume levels to make sure nothing obvious is wrong. If this doesn't work, check that you haven't muted the microphone. There is a microphone switch on the Nest Mini that will completely turn off the microphone for privacy reasons, and if it was accidentally turned off, this is the cause of your problem.

Google Home cannot connect to iPhone and Android phones 1. Open the Google Home application.

2. Click on your personal icon in the lower right corner.

3. Verify that the current account listed is the same Google account that is linked to Google Home.

4. If not, tap the arrow button next to the account name and select the account that is linked to Google Home.
