View from the Vicarage “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” These words are of course not an advance warning of the upcoming Dr Who festive special, or indeed a reference to any ‘lords of the dance’ that might make an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing this Christmas day. They’re from the Bible, Matthew chapter 24 verse 42 and refer to the eventual return of Jesus whose birth many eagerly await and will celebrate this month. We once again find ourselves in Advent, which literally means the arrival of a notable person. It’s the first season of the Church year leading up to Christmas and is a designated time of preparation. What is it though, that we are actually preparing for? If we identify as Christian, then Jesus has already been born, right? And if we don’t, then so what? This year you’d be forgiven for thinking we’re preparing for ever bigger advent calendars. A quick online search or actual trot around the shops will reveal some of the biggest and most expensive calendars you’ve ever seen, containing everything from chocolates to luxury beauty products. Maybe that’s because the makers know we aren’t that good at waiting,

so we need something to distract us. According to recent research by Microsoft, people in Britain spend over two weeks queueing every year. I don’t think that includes my five-year-old though, as she gets bored waiting for anything longer than thirty seconds… However, waiting can be beneficial. As much as we might find it hard and perhaps actively avoid it, we’re prompted to stop, ponder and reflect, something I think we could all do more. Waiting can be exciting and exhilarating even if we know what we’re waiting for; think of queuing for that rollercoaster ride again and again or that gripping movie watched for the hundredth time. It’s healthy and life-giving when we rediscover wonder and remind ourselves what we wait for in the first place. This advent, are you waiting to open gifts and eat lots before returning to your regular routine? I love those things at Christmas, but is that it? I choose to wait and anticipate the birth of Jesus once again. Jesus, who was born and grew up to give his life for you and me. He will come again to make right all that is wrong in the world, and THAT is definitely something worth waiting for. Rev. James Whymark

News from Woodmancote & Popham Woodmancote had a beautiful, peaceful and reflective All Souls service at St James in the last week of October. There is something very heavenly about sitting in a church lit by candlelight and decorated with rosemary for remembrance, looking at an Altar lit with more twinkling candles for loved ones no longer with us, but very much in our thoughts. It also reminds us we are not alone in grief and how the path of grief changes with the passing of time. Death is all around us, we cannot ignore it, just as is new life. Rev. Rob took the Service and whilst always sad, it was also very comforting and a Service full of hope and promise of the life yet to come. Afterwards we had a little tipple and time for fellowship to talk (if we wanted to) about our dear departed. Christmas is fast approaching and the Woodmancote Carol Service will be held on Friday 15th December at 7pm.

It is always a wonderful occasion and a chance to kick off your festive celebrations with friends and neighbours. We hope you can join us. Afterwards everyone is invited back to Rownest Meadow by Mary and Nick for cheese and wine. This year there will also be a fundraising raffle, so please bring along some cash. On Christmas Day we have a Service in St. James’ Church at 09.30am. It will be taken by Rev. Rob so will be a very joyful, child friendly service. Please do come along. On behalf of St. James’ Church I would like to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas. Jane.

Safari Supper A big thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Safari Supper. The event raised £1,615 for St Mary’s Church Fabric Fund. Almost seventy people from Micheldever and surrounding villages enjoyed an evening of delicious food and great company. We are very grateful for the support and generosity of all involved.

The date of next year’s Safari Supper will be confirmed shortly. Helen Symes

ST MARYS CHURCH

Remembrance Weekend On Friday 10 November, following a period of studying the meaning of Remembrance Day, Assembly consisted of a short talk on the significance of WWI and its impact on Micheldever, as the village was then, as well as an explanation of the Kohima epitaph. This was followed with a school service in St Mary’s church. Birch class had all written poems to reflect their thoughts on what they had learned. One poem, written by Anna, was then chosen to be read out during the Sunday Remembrance service. During the fortnight preceding, our stalwart village Poppy Appeal collectors had been out and about in Micheldever, Micheldever Station, West Stratton and Woodmancote. A number of static collections were also in local businesses and pubs. A sum in excess of £2000 was raised for the Royal British Legion (a precise sum is not possible as a number of donations were made on the QR tab and cannot be attributed directly back to us–but it was a great incentive for those who no longer carry cash). A huge thanks

from the Legion for their support. On Remembrance Day there was a short service at the village memorial supported by Service personnel from Worthy Down. Major Helena Holden read the Roll of Honour and Brigadier Maurice Nugent read the Kohima epitaph. Two buglers from The Rifles gave a resounding rendition of the Last Post and Reveille. On Sunday, the Remembrance service was again supported by Worthy Down with some smart drill in the aisle. Claire Bentham led the service and gave a heartstopping twist to the amazing story that Colonel Richard Vellacott told from the pulpit of his grandfather’s experiences in WWI. Hector Balmain read the Roll of Honour and Rupert Greatrix the Kohima epitaph. The collection raised £130. So concluded three days that will ensure that……. We Will Remember Them

Climate Fresk Want to help tackle climate change but don’t have the time to become a climate scientist? The Micheldever Parish Council is organising a workshop in the new year where, in just 3 hours, you can discover the fundamental science behind climate change. The workshop is free of charge. Climate Fresk is a powerful tool for providing a comprehensive climate education. It is accessible to anyone. The Fresk (or map) is based on the IPCC reports. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. (www.ipcc.ch reports) Climate Fresk is neutral and objective and presents only established scientific facts.

The workshop will enable participants to take ownership of the subject matter. It doesn’t involve an expert presenting information to the group; instead, it requires all participants to take an active role in the building-up of a map, becoming participative learners. Participants link the causes and effects of climate change, they are able to take a step back and understand the systemic nature of the challenges. https://climatefresk.org If you are interested in this free workshop please contact the Clerk Jocelyn, who can be contacted via micheldeverpc@hotmail.co.uk or on 01794 368951 (office hours if possible please).

RoWVers Round Up 2023 The Rights of Way Volunteers have been busy and achieved a lot in 2023, our 6th year of operation across the Parish. We secured a grant from HCC this year which enabled us to buy some new equipment and get some training on the safe use of our heavier equipment. This has all been used to great effect already with some spectacular clearances done in record time for the RoWVers!

We have some ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots to share showing some of the great clearance work done. We can’t do it without the help of all our volunteers and we benefit hugely from a supportive relationship with Gemma Clinch and colleagues at HCC, thank you! We enjoyed working with our volunteers again this year and meeting new ones from the Ramblers Hampshire 40+ walking group, with whom we installed a new memorial bench up at Bazeley Copse for all to use. We’re also working with HCC on some complex and persistent path issues–our beloved buddleia path at the Station springs to mind–to get a better long term fix on some issues, and increase access for all local people to all the paths they’ve a right to use.

Huge thanks to our volunteers who help out whenever they can to keep our rights of way open, navigable and enjoyable for everyone. Lastly, you may have noticed that the five Map Boards around the Parish have been down for a few weeks. This is just for some routine maintenance of the Frames, to ensure they last for years to come, and they’ll be back in their places by Christmas.

If you want to join us or simply get our updates on local projects, please email: Nigel Pratt: mgnige@yahoo.co.uk Lynsey Sweeney: lynseysweeney17@gmail.com Here’s to more RoWVing in 2024!

Middle Wallop Airfield in WWII The Dever Valley Local History Society welcomed Alistair Mellor who spoke about The Importance of Middle Wallop Airfield in WWII and The Museum of Army Flying. At midnight on 1st April 1918, the RAF came into being and were persuaded to fly light aircraft using Army pilots, flying unarmed in a single engine aircraft. The decade of the 1930s witnessed the rise of Hitler in Germany and the expansion of flying in America, France and England. The first successful flight under the power of a 12 hp engine was by Orville and Wilbur Wright on December 17th 1903, which was followed by 4 years of experimenting with gliders. The first large use of gliders was the invasion of Sicily then the D-Day landings and the battle for Arnhem. In 1940 gliders were taken out of service and replaced with helicopters. The road, the A343, was a convenient straight Roman road with land each side where from 1938 the Airfield at Middle Wallop was built on farmland despite local objections. It was designed and built as a bomber airfield with 5 hangers primarily used for training purposes. It was never used as a bomber station. Initially personnel were accommodated in Andover. Although first opened in May 1940 as a Flying Training School the station became operational under No. 11 Group as a Fighter Station in June 1940 which continued to operate throughout the whole of the war in the day and night fighter roles. When WWII began various squadrons moved in, including Spitfires and Hurricanes for the Auxiliary 609 squadron. There was one small bungalow on the site which became known as the Darley Bungalow, 12

used to accommodate the Commanding Officer of the Royal Auxiliary Airforce drafted in from Yorkshire. Pilots played the waiting game, expecting the alarm call initiating Scramble to participate in the Battle of Britain in which this airfield played a major role. The presentation of images during the talk showed a collection of old photographs from 609 squadron including their 100th kill. In the period 1940-41 the station’s claim of enemy aircraft destroyed amounted to 334 for a loss of 35 of their own On 13th August 1940 the Luftwaffe planned an attack on Middle Wallop but they couldn’t find it and dropped their bombs on Andover instead. On 14th August a successful attempt was made, aiming at the technical site. The attack blew off doors and killed 9 airmen. The airfield was untouched. In 1941 a Canadian squadron moved in later joined by the Americans. The RAF returned after the war followed by the Royal Navy. Middle Wallop was the largest grass airfield in Europe, where bomb craters could quickly be filled in, rolled over and re-used. By 1955 joint services experimental helicopters moved in before transferring to Suez and from 1957 Middle Wallop became the Army Air Corps station for training pilots. Today the museum at Middle Wallop is officially the Museum of Army Flying, telling a story which began in 1860s up to present day. The museum holds events throughout The Dever - December 2023

the year for both adults and children. The museum covers the five main branches of Army Aviation : The Royal Engineers, The Royal Flying Corps, The Glider Pilot

Volunteers Wanted At Tower House Horses

Can you help? Tower House Horses (THH) is an equine assisted services charity, which has been based at Micheldever Station for thirteen years. The charity raises funds to provide support to adults and young people in the community who are struggling with anxiety, depression or life trauma, such as domestic abuse or substance misuse. That support comes in the form of a herd of six horses and ponies, whose naturally empathetic nature and extraordinary intuitive intelligence mean they are uniquely able to help people rebuild their confidence and emotional resilience in times of crisis. There is no riding involved. Clients spend therapeutic time with the horses while enjoying an unrivalled view of the Hampshire Downlands. THH has built a solid reputation based on excellent results over the years. The Charity is fortunate to receive funding from the National Lottery among other grants from trusts and local companies, and is a past recipient of a High Sheriff’s Award for services to the community.

Susie Little, who runs THH, is appealing for local volunteers to help with occasional horse care and maintenance of the facility. Anyone interested in the horse care side must have some experience with horses, be prepared to learn our particular handling techniques and have a few hours to spare, mainly at weekends. The kind of help sought with maintenance, especially at this time of year, involves keeping the fields clear of leaves and ragwort, checking fences and minor repairs. THH would be grateful for any help – just an hour or so here and there would make a huge difference. If you would like to know more, please contact Susie direct on: 07721 555777 E: susie@towerhousehorses.org W: www.towerhousehorses.org

Wonston Community Café Despite the dreary weather, the hall was buzzing with the sound of chatter from our visitors to the October community café. The Breeze Winchester cyclists made a welcome appearance, and the car park was overflowing! We had two very special visitors, Anne and Peter Hawker (pictured with Barbara), who many years ago had completed a tandem cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats for LLR, which has now become Blood Cancer UK. Barbara Harvey, our volunteer who organises this charity event, was very interested to chat to them, and Peter still rides out in the local area on his full-size tricycle converted from a racing bike. Barbara had decorated the hall with red balloons, as well as the usual flower decorations on the tables. A magnificent £460 was raised during the morning from cake and coffee sales and donations, with a further £25 added later in the day by supporters who couldn’t get to the café. In addition, local artist and glassmaker Eryl Holt was selling glass decorations and beautiful printed scarves in the hall foyer. Eryl donated all the proceeds from her sales, an impressive £202.50, to the charity. Barbara Harvey rounded up the donations in memory of her late husband Glyn, and a final total of £700 was donated to Blood Cancer UK.

14

In December we will be running the café a week early, on Wednesday 13th December, with proceeds going to Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity which says Our Young People’s Service is for young adults aged 16-24 who have been diagnosed with cancer, their families, and the people they care about. It’s available across the UK, in both main cancer hospitals and local hospitals. Please do come along to support the community café, which is staffed entirely by volunteers. All the cakes are homemade, we have real coffee and plenty of free parking! In addition, we will also be selling homemade Christmas table decorations. The café is cash only. Where Is This? The plaque featured in The Dever for November was of course located at Northbrook Hall. But you won’t be able to see it unless you are on the stage! It is located in the middle of the back wall with framed black and white portraits of the Earl and Countess of Northbrook hanging high above in the roof space. Here is another post box, approximately 70+ years old, but where is it? There should be enough visual clues in the photograph, though if you can’t find it the answer will be revealed next issue. Another location next month. (Ed.)

Helleborus, The Hero Of Winter Few plants flower deep into the Winter but one genus has been long been popular with gardeners for just this trait. Hellebores, sometimes referred to as the Lenten or Christmas rose, though they have absolutely no relationship to roses, and are actually members of the Ranunculaceae family. All like fertile, moist but well drained soil and dappled shade. Some can cope with higher light levels as long as they are not allowed to dry out and the native Helleborus foetidus prefers deep shade. None of them enjoy being waterlogged so if your soil is heavy you will need to improve the drainage. Some absolutely loathe sitting in wet and cold conditions and can be lost if the drainage is not adequate.

16

All Hellebores are toxic though poisoning is rare. Animals won’t eat them as the toxic compounds in them are bitter to taste. Gardeners with sensitive skin should wear gloves when handling them or collecting seeds as they have been known to cause dermatitis. However, the fact that they flower so early means they are a welcome source of pollen and nectar to our early pollinators. The elegant flowers can be single or double and come in a wide spectrum of colours, from light pastel through to a deep exotic purple. They nod in the breeze, so placing them up higher, on a terrace, in a pot or in a raised bed for instance will make looking into the flowers much more comfortable. Easy to care for, just remove old leaf stems when they become tatty or marked with scorch or black spot and new ones will shoot from the base of the plant. When the flowers begin to emerge, it is a good idea to remove any of the larger leaves to ensure all the flowers can be seen and you’ll get the most dramatic display. It is best to plant these flowers from Autumn until Spring as they will be less stressed, but avoid planting them during hot and dry weather. All will benefit from the addition of plenty of organic matter. This is an edited version of an article in Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants website. For the whole piece, including more tips on planting, go to www.hardyscottagegardenplants.com to sign up to Hardys Gardeners, or Visit us in Priory Lane, Freefolk, RG28 7NJ

British National Juvenile Latin Champion 2023 Micheldever now proudly boasts their own ‘Strictly’ star, with local resident Anastasia becoming the British National Juvenile Latin Champion in her age category at the ISTD Grand Finals UK National Teacher/Student Dance Championship on Saturday 4th November 2023. Anastasia competed in competitions throughout the UK to qualify for the National Grand Finals at the stunning Winter Gardens in Blackpool. A total of 36 dancers joined Anastasia to compete in a number of rounds before the deserving winner finally emerged.

At the same event Anastasia was also awarded 3rd place for a spectacular Walz in the Ballroom competition, so she was on cloud 9 as she arrived back in Micheldever, the place she loves to live!

Citizens Advice Winchester District I am a single parent with two kids and I’m really Ally Chatterley, Operations worried about how I’ll afford to pay my energy bills Manager at Citizens Advice when I start putting the heating on using lights Winchester District gives more now winter is here. At the moment I just about some top tips on how have enough money to cover my bills but there is to save money on your nothing left over. The thought of getting into debt energy bills this winter. keeps me awake at night but the idea of my children being cold and possibly unwell as a result is just unbearable. What can I do? You are not alone–a record number of people came to a Citizens Advice service with energy debt in the first four months of 2023 (32,400)–a 112% increase on the same period in 2020 (15,200). There are things you can do to feel in control when it comes to your energy bills including some simple tips to help save money on your energy bills. They won’t cover all the extra costs, but they can make a difference: • Check your thermostat: A room temperature between 18°C and 21°C is ideal for most people. Try turning your thermostat down by one degree within this range – it could save you around £115 a year. If a medical condition means you need a warmer home, ask your GP what room temperature you should aim for. • Keep the heat in: Check your home for any gaps in the doors, windows and floors. Blocking any holes where you could get a draught could save you around £30 a year. It is important to allow for some ventilation as without it mould and damp can form. • Turn off anything you’re not using: Turning your appliances, like TVs and

22

washing machines, off instead of leaving them on standby could save around £60 a year. Turning off lights when you’re not using them – even if it’s just off for a few seconds–could save around £25 a year. • Consider using LED lightbulbs, which cost less to run. • Watch your water usage: Cutting your shower time by just one minute can make a difference. If everyone in a four-person household with a water meter did this, they could save around £75 a year. If you’re struggling to afford your energy bills, you might be able to get support from the government or your energy supplier. The first step is to contact your supplier to find out what they can offer. You may be eligible for benefits including the Warm Home Discount, Cold Weather Payments or the Household Support Fund. You can find out more about these on the Citizens Advice website (www.citizensadvice.org.uk). To speak to a local adviser at Citizens Advice Winchester District, call 0808 278 7861 or visit our website for other ways to contact us www. citizensadvicewinchester.org.uk

Jackie’s County Corner Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a healthy 2024! The Meals on Wheels service provides healthy food for those who don’t feel able to prepare food themselves. Food is now served by a new provider, but with the same offer. It’s a service generally for over 55’s who need a little more support, but also open to adults aged 18-54 who are living with dementia, learning difficulties and disabilities, a history of substance misuse, including support for adults with a temporary disability (eg living alone with broken leg etc). Meals are served hot to your door with a wellbeing check. Delivery drivers are trained to spot customers who may need extra support. The meals cost £8.50 for a two-course meal (£10 for three courses) and afternoon tea if required costs £3.95 Full information on the Meals on Wheels page, but if you need assistance, please contact me. www.hants.gov.uk/socialcareandhealth/ adultsocialcare/meals-on-wheels The County Council is consulting on School Transport changes and there are two current consultations both cover eligibility and update the costs and benefits for children. The first consultation is for 24

children of school age, and the second for 16 -25 years. Both consultations run until 11.59pm the 6th December. You can see them on this link www.hants.gov.uk/abouthecouncil/ haveyoursay/consultations/schooltransport The Emergency Planning briefing that we had recently seems especially relevant after a week of heavy rain. Ground water levels are rising, and so it was useful to receive a refresher of who takes command, and what and who to contact in case of flooding or any other emergency. It is also worthwhile registering for flood updates too. More information here:- www.hants.gov.uk/community/ The Dever - December 2023

emergencyplanning/prepareyourcommunity Councils urge all families to consider how they would cope if there was a household emergency. I have put details about some flood protection items for your home on my website www.jackieporter.co.uk I can send a printed sheet on request. Progress towards new hospitals for Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust I am a member of the Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee at HCC. The meeting at the end of October was very interesting: my role there is to represent your views, so please keep them coming! Health services provided by the different parts of the NHS are scrutinised by the County Council and this JHOSC looks specifically at the progress of the HHFT’s application for the ‘new hospital’. Our local Hospital Trust has received confirmation that new hospital funding is

still available, but choice of design is not for our Trust alone: work is being done nationally to look at value for money/ best practice designs for new hospitals. The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is looking at provision, bearing in mind that the number of over 75’s is predicted to increase by over 50% in the next 20 years. There are a few more hurdles to cross- but a consultation for all of us is expected relatively soon: picture yourself in a decade: what services will you and your family need then and in 2050? Responses will be online, and in person. I’ll advertise details asap. You can contact me as usual over the holiday period: details below. St Mary’s Micheldever – Engaging With Our Community There are some 16,000 churches in England. They exist, as they have always done, to serve their communities. This is seen through worship, celebrations of the joys of life and commemorations of its sorrows. However, the church is not just the building in which people gather to worship, the church is its people, the Christian community and it is they who are so often at the heart of the community providing company, care and support for all how need and want it. St Mary’s and its people are passionate about serving its community and we would like to share with you some of the church-related activities which we feel help to strengthen the bonds in our community and improve our lives. The first is the Micheldever Lunch Club which was started approximately 20 years ago by the then Churchwarden, Gill Dockray. On the first Wednesday of every month (except December) a village community lunch, primarily aimed at the elderly, is held in the Northbrook Hall. This convivial event provides an opportunity for villagers to gather together and enjoy warmth and friendship over a delicious meal. All the food is cooked by a team of volunteers (angels!). It is a wonderful example of a caring community initiative run for those in the community. Church events play an important role in bringing people together and as an opportunity to fundraise. Previous events include the village fete, safari suppers, a festival, open gardens, quizzes, lectures, plays, concerts etc. These events have something for everyone and are a great 26

way of meeting people and having fun as well as making a difference to our lives. More recently, at the start of the cost of living crisis a foodbank was set up in St Mary’s. Items of food were generously donated by locals to help those struggling financially. Café Church has been running successfully for several years and is an informal style of worship. It provides an opportunity for people to join together for coffee, cake and chat before we gather to sing a hymn, say prayers and hear a short talk. This style of informal worship enables us to share and engage with one another and provides a sense of belonging and fellowship. If you have never been before please come and give it a try. The next Café Church will be on 3rd December at 10am. We look forward to welcoming you. Giving to charitable causes is important to St Mary’s. Each year the PCC chooses 3 local charities. Previous charities supported include the Winchester Hospice, Countess of Brecknock Hospice, Naomi House, Winchester Bereavement Support, Friends of the Family and Winchester Trinity. Additionally, food donations are made to the Winchester Beacon. Each November the collection taken on Remembrance Sunday is donated to the Royal British Legion. We are blessed to have many people in our community who “look out for one another” and provide support and a listening ear to friends and neighbours, welcome newcomers, drop in to see how you are, collect prescriptions, bring gifts of food if one is sick etc. And finally, we are thrilled to have a The Dever - December 2023

church school in the Village. Micheldever Primary School serves the young people and their families in and around Micheldever. We are delighted that our Ordinand Claire Bentham is the Chair of Governors of The Dever Federation and our Rector, Rev’d Dr Robert Rees sits on the Governing Body. It is through their relationships with the Head Teacher, Mr Johnston, that we have seen a number of joint services take place in church over the past two years; a children’s choir formed; and, a

Bible Club after school club established. We thank all those who have supported and/or continue to support St Mary’s in whatever way and we hope that together we can continue to play an important role in ensuring that our community continues to flourish. We would be delighted to hear from anyone with suggestions for other ways we might contribute to our community. OurHants app There’s a new look to the hants.gov.uk website and an app ‘ourhants’ that is now live and available for Apple and Android mobile devices. You can report a pothole, book a slot to the Hampshire Waste Recycling Centre more easily on your phone!. The county council says:When booking an appointment at an HWRC, the OurHants app allows individuals to save details if they wish, such as the registration of their vehicle, and any permits they have, to make future bookings quicker. It also allows people to see and manage their bookings in one place and will notify the user of any important updates about their booking. We will be reviewing how people respond to the app and measuring the benefit to both customers and the HWRC service. This will allow us to plan the future growth of the app into other areas of online service. Anyone can download the app, without charge, from the Apple or Google Play app stores. You may wish to let your contacts know about this new service, and please do try it next time you need to visit an HWRC.

City Councillors’ News The storms and heavy rain during October and November have caused groundwater levels to rise quickly. The Environment Agency Floodline have issued alerts for the Sutton Scotney area, with the risk of flooding events from the beginning of January. Stephen is working with residents in the Wonston Flood Action Group to review plans and preparations. Do contact one of us if you are willing and able to support this community group. Recent decisions by the County Council over their future budgets have highlighted the challenges facing all levels of local government. All local authorities, including county, city, parish councils and the Police and Crime Commissioner, are moving into the budget setting period with more plans for expenditure than current income allows for. However, the senior finance officer

for the City Council has assured us that it will be possible to agree a balanced budget for next year, but savings must be made. The public inquiry on the appeal against planning enforcement action at Carousel Park has restarted after a short break. It should now be finished in December and a decision should be announced in the spring. We believe further challenges are likely following the announcement of any decision. We congratulate South Wonston Parish Council on winning the award as the Hampshire Council of the Year at the annual awards of the Hampshire Association of Local Councils. Their parish clerk, Rachael Jones, was Highly Commended in the Hampshire Clerk of the Year category of those awards. Have a joyful and peaceful Christmas and winter holiday.
