The project of "Olympico Vision" started less than a year ago, with the aim of returning the Olympic Games to Greece - permanently. A woman turns her vision from Japan and focuses on Greece. "Countries do not expect to make money from ticket sales, but they do expect to benefit from the prestige of the games and the promotion of the country's image around the world. This is the perfect time to revive the Games as the pandemic and economic crisis have shaken the entire planet, and it is now even clearer that rich countries will have new priorities after the pandemic rather than a battle with Olympic costs and debt. It should also be noted that the Olympics have lost their glamor and charm for years. There are even movements that are formed against the Games ... the Ideas of Olympism have weakened and the Games have lost their role, that of the union of people.
We would not aim for something that is considered impossible. When Baron Pierre de Coubertin first proposed the idea of reviving the Olympic Games, although his proposal was accepted with ridicule and apathy, he was not discouraged. With stubbornness and perseverance, he managed to revive the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896, after 1500 years. This was much more difficult, but it happened. Based on the reactions so far, I firmly believe that yes, the goal is achievable. I believe that there are people who really love our country and are willing to fight for anything that will help it, without political expediencies or personal ambitions, but guided by the love for the humanitarian ideals that the Olympic Games and consequently - Greece represent. As a true Macedonian, I quote the words of Alexander the Great "there is nothing impossible for him who will try.
There are during the course of the centuries, African Athletes who passed to the Pantheon of the History of O.A. that even today the images yellowed by time inspire, nurture… We must not be deprived of such a Country, the right to dream, the right to promote it, as it is entitled to its own cultural values, its own customs its own picture. But in fact, we do not want to get involved with the ILO. We do not seek in any way to undermine their importance and role. Nor do we want to reduce the revenue they generate at the Olympics. However, we would very much like to spread this message to all people and governments and through them achieve the return of the Games to their birthplace as an institution.
We see that there is interest from the Diaspora and their support is very important for our mission. So far, we have given an interview to Greek Reporter, New Greek TV and National Herard! We intend to visit the Greeks of the Diaspora and get to know each other. We will inform them and stay in touch with them. Yes, it is a difficult challenge, but as we discuss it, we strengthen this movement - and so it will bring us to the negotiating table. Europe, United States, Canada, and Australia are on the list of places to visit. As president of Olympico Vision, wherever I am invited, I will go and talk about our vision! There is nothing that you can do about it. You have to meet people. You have to claim. If you do not ask, you will never receive. So, I get up and make my dream come true. I am from Drama and Drama smells like strongly burned wood, it smells like vines, it smells like Greece of the East .. But it smells more like passion.
