WHO’S OPENING AND WHERE Trader Joe’s (626-599-3700) is planning to open a 10,000 sq.ft. supermarket at Pepper Square Shopping Center, located along Preston Road in north Dallas, TX during early 2016. The company will join Hobby Lobby and Stein Mart at the site. The company is also opening a store south of Knox Street along Cole Avenue in Dallas, TX during the first quarter of 2016. The chain, offering more than 3,000 items under its private label, currently operates more than 400 specialty grocery stores nationwide. Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. (585-3282550) is planning to open a Wegmans supermarket in Alexandria, along with a 120,000 sq.ft. upscale supermarket in Charlottesville, VA next year. The chain of specialty supermarkets, featuring bakery, deli, floral, meat and seafood products, as well as offering gourmet food items and a wine and spirits section, operates more than 85 locations throughout MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA and VA. The Kroger Co. (866-221-4141) is planning to open 11 Kroger stores and remodel or expand 22 other locations throughout the IN market through 2017. Paragon Entertainment Holdings (305-7769523) is planning to open a 40,000 sq.ft. movie theater at The Mall at Wellington Green in Wellington, FL during winter 2016. The theater will have eight screens, 1,100 seats, including leather electronic reclining seats, a bar and lounge, and 3D movie screens. The company also operates under the trade-names Pick ‘N Save, Copps and Metro Market.
