WHO’S OPENING AND WHERE Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) is proposing the opening of two Walmart Neighborhood Market stores in Murfreesboro, TN, including a 41,921 sq.ft. location to be situated on 7.85 acres at the intersection of New Salem Highway and Cason Lane, and a 43,101 sq.ft. store to be located in Gateway at the intersection of Manson Pike and Fortress Drive. The company is also planning to open a 194,574 sq.ft. Walmart Supercenter at the intersection of Collins Road and Interstate 295 in Jacksonville, FL during spring 2016. The company trades as Walmart, Walmart Supercenter, Walmart Neighborhood Market and Walmart Express and currently operates more than 11,000 locations, as well as more than 640 Sam’s Club locations, nationwide and internationally. Dunkin’ Brands (781-737-3000) is planning to open between 410 and 440 Dunkin’ Donuts locations and between five and 10 Baskin-Robbins locations during fiscal 2015. The company, serving coffee, donuts and breakfast sandwiches, operates more than 11,000 Dunkin’ Donuts locations and more than 7,400 Baskin-Robbins restaurants worldwide. Potbelly Sandwich Works, LLC (312-9510600), through a franchised expansion plan, is looking to open 30 Potbelly Sandwich Shop restaurants throughout the Charlotte, NC region. The company prefers to occupy spaces of 1,600 sq.ft. to 3,000 sq.ft. and currently operates more than 300 locations throughout 18 states nationwide. IKEA (610-834-0180) is proposing plans to open a 269,000 sq.ft. store to be situated on 35 acres along Interstate 40 near the Germantown Parkway exit in Memphis, TN. Plans also call for a location in St. Louis, MO slated to open during the fall. The company, offering home furnishings and décor, currently operates more than 360 locations throughout 46 countries, including more than 40 stores in the U.S.

Hooters of America, LLC (770-951-2040), through a franchise expansion plan, is looking to open Hooters restaurants throughout Palm Springs, Coachella and Cathedral City, CA this year, with the first location slated to open during the summer. The company currently operates 415 fast-casual restaurants throughout 42 states nationwide and 26 countries internationally.

Xtend Barre (718-522-2580), through a franchised expansion plan, is seeking locations throughout the Miami, FL and New York, NY markets. The chain of fitness facilities currently operates more than 170 locations nationwide, as well as in Australia, Brazil, Paris, France, London, UK and Canada.

BPS Direct, LLC (800-227-7776) is planning to open a 260,000 sq.ft. Bass Pro Shops location to anchor Fruitville Commons, a development located at the intersection of Fruitville Road and Interstate 75 in Sarasota, FL during 2016. The chain, offering hunting, fishing and camping gear, outdoor apparel and accessories, currently operates 90 locations nationwide and in Canada.

Davidoff (212-751-9060) recently opened a 2,000 sq.ft. flagship store trading as Davidoff of Geneva – since 1911 at Brookfield Place in Manhattan, NY. The store features a retail space, lounge and humidor. The company, offering cigars, tobacco and related products, is slated to open a second flagship store in Atlanta, GA during the spring.

Sprouts Farmers Market (480-814-8016) is planning to open a 28,000 sq.ft. supermarket at the site of a former Ruby Tuesday’s and Pizza Hut restaurant along Montgomery Highway in Vestavia, AL during spring 2016. The company currently more than operates 175 specialty grocery stores throughout 10 states.
