LSU students were awarded nearly $230 million in scholarships, grants, loans and work study jobs for the 2010-11 school year, according to the Office of Budget and Planning. Many students are dissuaded from applying to colleges because many find the financial aid application process daunting, MTV’s release said. The app’s aim is to simplify the process.
