Level 3 Core Mathematics INTENT: Our aim is to offer students an opportunity to continue their mathematical education alongside non-maths A-Levels. This course focusses on applying mathematical skills to real life situations, and there is more emphasis on the interpretation of mathematical results than in other courses. The core maths course offered at Crypt has been chosen to focus on statistical skills to enhance and support the learning in a wide range of other subjects including biology, geography, psychology and more. As well as the statistical elements of the course, core maths gives students a chance to gain an understanding of financial problems, including student loan repayments, income tax and national insurance, and understanding inflation.
