Council not ready to partner on TD project Council tells TD land developers to go ahead with design phase, doesn't agree to dedicate staff resources by Trina Berlo Clearview council voted 6-3 Monday giving the go-ahead to Creemore Community Foundation to prepare a development plan and design for the village green, which proponents hope will take the place of the TD Bank building on Mill Street. The plan will then come back for staff review and council consideration with the understanding that the intention is to consolidate the acquired TD Bank property under the ownership of the municipality and that the municipal land occupied by the Hort Park and Station on the Green be included in the design. A friendly amendment proposed by Councillor Connie Leishman removed from the original motion any mention of a partnership agreement or staff time being allotted for the development plan. The meeting began with a deputation by Foundation founders Tony Arrell and Stuart Lazier, who were looking

Also there to speak in support of the project was Greg Young representing Creemore and Area Residents Association, Basil Guinane representing Purple Hills Arts and
Heritage Society and Laurie Severn representing the BIA. “We are looking for your support and it is of a critical nature,” said Arrell. “I think in the long run the Foundation will be able to do other things to help Creemore, and by extension Clearview.” They also outlined the planned (See “Community” on page 7)
Roxodus rezoning delayed again by Trina Berlo Clearview council will hold a special meeting on June 19 to revisit the request for a temporary use zoning by Roxodus organizers, hoping it will give them time to provide all outstanding material, reports and agency approvals. That is the last possible date to approve or deny the request and still allow time for an appeal period. Roxodus organizers are asking for a rezoning that would allow them to proceed with this year’s event from July 11-14 and hold an additional two events over 10 days in both 2020 and 2021. The request is for the approval
of a temporary use bylaw, to allow for a “festival grounds” use on a property at the corner of Highway 26 and 15/16 Sideroad. On Monday, council received for information a report from planning consultant Darren Vella, of IPS Innovative Planning, dated June 3 stating the application is incomplete. They are still waiting for documents including a functional servicing and stormwater management report, archeological assessment, restoration plans, and that they demonstrate they have responded to public comments and concerns. The report outlines that other agencies
