The Art of feeling Beautiful is not one mastered by many. With the definition of 'beauty' changing almost daily, it's easy to find difficulty keeping up. With social media being a driving force, it's hard to argue that happiness and selfworth isn't affected by likes and loves or the lack there-of.

"The idea of being a pretty girl, definitely relates to having the knowledge of who you are", says Sharmayne Bolling, as she speaks on the idea of being a pretty girl. From topics like 'being comfortable in your own skin' to 'what it means to be beautiful', Sharmayne gives young women a step forward in understanding the art of feeling beautiful.

"Having a personality that brings complexities of joy, love, peace, and happiness", answers Bolling when asked about the meaning of the word 'beautiful'. This suggests that the intangibles are just as if not more important than we allow them to be. Sharmayne says, "Being beauTHE CREATIVE COLLECTIVE

-tiful means to plant seeds of joy, love, peace, and happiness", thus making the term 'beautiful' a verb.

To be beautiful is more than a look and/or a feeling, but it's also how we treat each other. There's beauty in showing love.

Sharmayne Bolling is a Psychotherapist, author and the founder of Pretty Girls, Inc, a nonprofit geared towards the mental health and self-esteem of young and adolescent females ranging from ages 3-18. Sharmayne wants to impact the community and force change by advocating for young females as well as providing resources to aid in development.

Sharmayne is the author of 'The Moment I Forgave Her', which focuses on self-reflection, forgiveness and ultimately healing.

She is also the owner of the C. Lanae boutique in which she uses the phrase "Be the Staple" to empower women to use what they have, with confidence and understanding that it is and she is enough.
