SCHOOL YEAR HIGHLIGHTS 2019 – 2020 SCHOOL YEAR

Charlotte Jones and Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper build a healthier generation Well. Into the Future together.

Greater participation in school-based fitness programs like NFL PLAY 60 can improve the health of American children and build habits they can carry with them into adulthood where poor health is driving up the cost of healthcare and driving down productivity.

Fuel Up To Play 60 developed a “Play-InA-Box” specifically for the NFL PLAY 60 FitnessGram Project. This new healthy eating play was easy for schools to understand, easy to use, and increased nutritional education.

Travelers learned the importance of NFL PLAY 60 and physical activity from Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper, Charlotte Jones and NFL Clubs.

Healthy kids grow up to be healthy adults, impacting the future of business, uniformed personnel and community.

The message was shared on American Airlines flights nationwide and in airport news broadcasts during October and November 2019.

Jimena Tinoco, Fuel Up To Play 60 Youth Council member, inspired Legacy Award Dinner attendees, as she shared her story of how the Fuel Up to Play 60 has positively impacted her life.

THE COOPER INSTITUTE LEGACY AWARD 2019 RECIPIENT

As childhood obesity rates continue to rise, the NFL Foundation rises to the top as one of the few organizations willing to tackle the problem on a large scale. The Cooper Institute honored the NFL Foundation for their commitment to youth fitness at the 2019 Legacy Award Dinner. The event recognizes true visionary leaders working to keep the world healthy through physical.

Special thanks to Jimena and Youth Council whom influence their peers, by sharing knowledge, tools, and support for youth to live healthy and active lives.

The New York Giants identified New Jersey School 15 for their outstanding program participation where teachers made fitness fun and incorporated daily physical activity into students’ routines. They received a “Giant” shout-out from from #15 wide receiver, Golden Tate!”

It’s a Fact - research from the NFL PLAY 60 FitnessGram Project proves that students who participate in school-based fitness initiatives like NFL PLAY 60 have improved cardio fitness and healthier body weight.
