A "Branch" that's Reaching for the Sky By Angela Rogalski Young people who are excelling through, faith, hard work & strong determination‌ When you see young people excelling and going above and beyond normal achievements to apply themselves and make the most of the life God has given them, they just really need to be recognized for that well-placed ambition and performance. Asya Branch is one such young lady. Branch is a 17-year-old senior at Booneville High School, has a GPA of 4.0, is co-captain of her school's dance team, has run track since 8th grade, and attended special summer school classes in 2015 at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. for college credits. To say that she is aggressively pursuing her future would be an understatement. Branch is one young lady that believes the path to success is hard work and dedication to her education. "The summer school program was such a learning experience," Branch said. "I took college courses at Harvard and received college credits from those classes. I spent seven weeks in Massachusetts at Harvard this summer." During her time at Harvard, Branch said that although most of her time was spent in classes and studying, she did manage to find some spare time to explore her surroundings. "I took two courses; public speaking and psychology and law," she said. see BRANCH page 4

The bow and arrow are some of the oldest weaponry. Archeologists date the bow and arrow to the Paleolithic (Stone) Age. Archery was an essential hunting and even military skill for millennia. While firearms have long since replaced the necessity of the classic bow and arrow, it is still widely used for hunting and as a sport. And for some families, archery isn't just a sport, it is a business. I learned more from Johnny Wimberly of Wimberly Archery. "Archery has been a big part of our family for years. My wife Natalie and our four children: Jessica (15), Jake (12), Joanna (8), and James (5), all shoot bows - for hunting and in competition. I have always enjoyed archery, and I knew this was an activity we could do together. First, I got my wife involved and she learned to shoot very well. As our children came along, we began teaching each of them very early; at around the age of three, and each one loved it. We have been so blessed to find something that all of us can do together, enjoy so much, and also be competitive with! This year, all of the family won gold and silver medals in both compound and recurve bow events at the State games of Mississippi, and our oldest son also won silver in the Archery in Mississippi Schools (AIMS) Division. We love everything about archery as a sport, hobby, or fun pastime. "About three years ago, I started to make recurve bows by hand. I enjoyed being able to make them more custom fit and in new designs. At first, only for family and friends, and from there, things began to grow. After working offshore as a driller for twenty-one years on oil rigs, and spending too much time away from home, I saw this as a way to finally have a full time business

"I travel for work sometimes and get to see new things people are doing. After seeing a few bicycles people have modified to either have a gas or electric

Motorized Bicycles of the Crossroads By Nick Langston The bicycle is one of the simplest forms of transportation. With about 20 million bicycles sold in the United States each year, you probably would not have to search too far to find an individual who has ridden one in their lifetime. While bicycles usually rely on the passenger to power the wheels, some passengers choose to power
