Country star shines brightly in good works for troops and community By Lucy Weber Like a good country song, Darryl Worley loves God, country, family and community. Worley lets his patriotism wave true. "I come from a military family on both my mom's and my dad's sides. My parents were both patriotic," said the country singer, who now lives in Savannah, Tenn. "I'm a bone fide patriot. We have a great home land." Invited by the Army to entertain the military in Kuwait and Afghanistan in 2002, Worley was inspired by that first of many trips to different parts of the world to play for the troops. "I was inspired by seeing the sacrifices they make." Worley has lost count of the tours he's made to stand in front of thousands of military men and women around the world.
