A Profile of Success: Kerry Patton & The Company Media Group By Angela Rogalski Professional success is more often than not born from hard work and dedication, and a lot of learning-as-you-go once you get your feet established in the job environment that was meant for you. And Kerry Patton is proof of that. While his vision for the future may have been refocused after college, his hard work and dedication never wavered. And today he is a successful business owner doing something that he loves. Patton was born and raised in Holly Springs, Miss., but spent many summers in Corinth with his grandmother, Lillie Lowe. Lowe was a retired schoolteacher from the Corinth School System and passed away in 2001. But she was always a strong influence in Patton's life, and believed in him and his education. in Business Administration, it was a given that she was behind him all the way. "I graduated from the University of Mississippi, where I earned my degree in Business Administration," Patton said. "My major was marketing. After college, I was working for an account management firm in Memphis, when I met a gentleman who worked for a video production company that was also in Memphis." Patton added that after that chance meeting, it wasn't long until he quit his job at the account management firm and went to work for the video production company. "The company was called Consolidated Media Systems in Memphis," he said. "And as I began to be promoted, they asked me to go to Birmingham to open up an office. So, I did that in 1999 and that's when I moved to Birmingham. And then the company started becoming a bit wayward, as far as the politics and financial side of it, so I started my own business, The Company Media Group, in 2005." Patton continued, "And I have been doing video production, basically corporate, ever see PATTON pg 4

The Jabbok Treatment Center - Helping Patients Overcome Opioid Dependency With Medication & By Angela Rogalski Recently, news reports about opioid misuse and addiction have been all over the media, from television to online. In an article published by CNN in June 2017, it stated that an analysis from Blue Cross Blue Shield of its members showed that from 2010 to 2016, the number of people diagnosed with an addiction to opioids, including prescription drugs, such as oxycodone and hydrocodone, along with many illegal substances, rose 493%, cnn.com, a

startling number, to be sure. Medication-assisted treatment seems to be many doctors' recommendation for people who are addicted to opioids, as easing withdrawal symptoms is a primary goal in the treatment, allowing patients to do without the opioids and hopefully overcome the addiction. Jabbok Treatment Center in Savannah, Tenn. is one such facility that offers medicationassisted treatment, under the supervision of Dr. Susan Mokhtari and Dr. Sheila Stinson. Jackie Irwin
