THE HISTORY AND MISSION OF

A Community of Excellence Honorees at A Community of Excellence are celebrated for their commitment, service, and contributions to the College and the greater community. Each of this year’s award recipients – Lee A. McElroy, Jr., Mayor Kathy Sheehan, and Judge Leonard A. Weiss – makes a positive impact on the Capital Region in their own unique way, and we are proud to consider them friends and supporters of Saint Rose.

The College of Saint Rose is defined by accomplished faculty and dedicated staff, all focused on transforming the lives of our students. At Saint Rose, we believe that an exceptional education should be within reach of all, so we take every opportunity to give our students a leg up. Financial aid is a deciding factor in many students’ decisions to enroll in a college, and impacts their ability to stay enrolled and attain their degree. Currently, 99% of Saint Rose students receive financial assistance. All funds raised from A Community of Excellence support the College’s scholarship program and this event has become the College’s largest and most impactful fundraising event each year.

We are excited to be celebrating the 16th year of A Community of Excellence and are thrilled to share that we have raised more than $2.3 million for student scholarships since its inception.
