Easter Long Weekend Office Closures

Residents and visitors are advised the Cobar Shire Council Administration Office, including Service NSW, located at 36 Linsley Street, Children Services, Cobar, Euabalong and Nymagee Libraries, and Depot will be closed from the close of business Thursday April 6, 2023. All services will resume normal hours on Tuesday April 11, 2023.

Cobar Iron Ringer committee members, John Collins and Barry Knight, were in the main street on Saturday morning talking about the proposed project to build an iron ring adjacent to the Cobar Miners Memorial Park. The committee is selling pavers to help fund the build.

• National Ride2School Day on Friday was the perfect opportunity for students and school communities across Australia to embrace a healthier start and try riding and walking to school. St John’s students, staff and parents joined in and met up on Friday morning at Drummond Park to ride, walk or scooter to school.

• Cobar High School celebrated Harmony day at the school last Tuesday with students and staff dressing in cultural colours and taking part in making an art handprint Harmony Day mural. They also got to experience a range of foods from different cultures. Harmony Day aims to eliminate racial discrimination and recognise diversity. It brings people together from different cultural backgrounds to encourage a sense of belonging and respect for each other.

• How exciting! Construction work is soon to commence on the new Early Learning Centre and multipurpose hall/pavilion at Ward Oval. The construction fences have been erected this week in readiness for the building work to soon begin.

Cobar CWP Refresh Meeting
