Familiar faces returned to CobarArts Council team

A well attended Cobar Arts Council annual general meeting on Sunday chaired by Kay Stingemore, saw the previous committee re-elected.

Lillian Simpson was returned as the group’s president and treasurer, Susan Singleton was re-elected to the secretary’s role and Bev Anderson was retained as the club’s publicity officer.

Anita Neate was a new addition to the team and was welcomed as the group’s new vice president.

Publicity officer Bev Anderson reports 2023 is shaping up to be a busy year with some new members keen to be involved in the club.

“Upcoming events under consideration include workshops with visiting presenters including pottery, jewellery making, millinery and painting,” Mrs Anderson said.

“The Arts Council will also be involved with the workshops organised through the museum.

“A display/exhibition of finished works at the railway is also in the pipeline, together with the annual photography and Art competition held around the Miners Ghost Festival.”
