Cobar bowlers clean up at Hillston
It was pretty quiet on the Golfie greens last week with lots of lawn bowlers heading to Hillston for the Summer Pairs carnival where they cleaned up!
Cobar’s Craig ‘Duck’ Grimmond and his partner from Griffith won the event, with another Cobar bowler, Barry Bargwanna and his drawn partner finishing second.
Just missing out on the finals were more Cobar bowlers, Karen Daly (and her Hillston partner) who finished 5th and Jim Goonrey and his partner, who were 6th.
Former Cobar “locals” Janet and Rob Renkin, and their bowls partners finished 7th and 8th respectively.
There were 10 bowlers for Friday night’s Twilight Bowls.
Tom McKeown was the Spider winner while the team of Kyle Roberts, Andrew Roberts and Greg Clark were the winners of the night after they finished with a +3 win over Jean Roberts, Tyler Roberts and Narelle Kriz.
The Jackpot prize was not won. The Second
In the Twenty20 grand final next Friday night, defending champs Whackers will face Bushies for the second year running while in the 40 Overs competition grand final to be played in a fortnight, Empire will be looking for a three-peat against grand final newcomers Golf Club. contributed
