It’s no picnic for players on the Cobar Golf Course with the men golfers still having trouble negotiating the lush conditions over the past week.
Ron Craw picked up first prize in Saturday’s Stableford competition after finishing with 31 stableford points.
Max Phillips, on 30 stableford points, had done enough to pick up the second place prize.
Nearest to the Pin prizes were won by Ray Yench on the 3rd hole, Sean Bayliss on the 7th hole and Phillips claimed the prize on the 15th hole.
In Sunday’ Stableford game the ever consistent Max Phillips came in first with 33 stableford points.
Ray Yench was two shots further back in second place after finishing with 31 stableford points.
Brien Obray picked up the only Nearest to the Pin prize on the day, which he won on the 8th hole.
This week the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club golf course grounds staff will be replacing the sand on the greens, so they will be ready for the new golf season which kicks off at the beginning of March. Three Aces
Cobar Swimming Club member Henry Knight competed in 11 events at the two day Western Area Championships in Gulgong on the weekend. Henry finished with seven first places and four seconds swimming in all four strokes to earn second place in the Senior Boys (15-17 years) Point Score Shield competition. ▪ Photo contributed
