Welcome to the 14th Annual Bluegrass Island Music Festival, where you’ll enjoy 3 unforgettable days of music and camaraderie with bluegrass enthusiasts.

This year’s festival will run from Thursday, October 16th through Saturday, October 18th. Festival attendees arriving in Manteo earlier in the week are encouraged to enjoy a relaxing cruise on The Albemarle Queen to enjoy the beauty of The Outer Banks. Both Bluegrass Island Lunch Buffet Cruises aboard the stunning vessel are sold out for this year. However cruises will be running throughout the week.

On Wednesday, the historic Pioneer Theater in Downtown Manteo will be hosting a pre-festival kickoff event in The Garden along with the incredibly talented Caroline Owens performing in the theater at 7 p.m, $10 tickets will be available at the door until the venue is sold out – arrive early!

The festival will kick off on Thursday, October

16th with gates opening at 11 a.m. for a full day of top-tier bluegrass performances. The lineup for the day includes Amanda Cook Band, Authentic Unlimited, Lonesome River Band, and Malpass Brothers. Our Queen of Bluegrass Island and the Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent will close out the night with her award-winning talent and unforgettable energy.

Festival-goers will enjoy another full day of incredible music on Friday, October 17th with another round of some of the biggest names in bluegrass. The day will begin with Unspoken Tradition followed by the high-energy sounds of Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. The afternoon will continue on with Wood Box Heroes and country music star Pam Tillis. The Steeldrivers will wrap up Day 2 with an incredible performance.

Jacob Jolliff Band

The Jacob Jolliff Band is a progressive bluegrass ensemble led by mandolin virtuoso Jacob Jolliff, widely regarded as one of the finest mandolin players of his generation. Known for their virtuosic musicianship, intricate compositions, and high-energy performances, the band blends traditional bluegrass roots with elements of jazz, classical, and improvisational music, pushing the boundaries of acoustic music.

Jacob Jolliff, originally from Newberg, Oregon, began playing the mandolin at a young age, inspired by his father’s bluegrass band. By his teenage years, he was winning national competitions and gaining recognition for his extraordinary talent. Jacob honed his skills at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he developed his distinctive style and deep understanding of music theory and composition. She is engaging with the audience and always keeps everyone well informed of band history, pending festivals and everything happening within the event with the food vendors, arts and craft vendors and our generous sponsors.

We congratulate Sherry on placing 6th in the Worldwide CrossFit Games for women 70+. Her determination and dedication is to be admired and applauded.

Where is parking located for the festival?

FESTIVAL FAQS

There is FREE parking lots throughout Downtown Manteo. Shuttle service is available at all Manteo hotels. Golf Cart Shuttles will run from the Bluegrass Island Trading Company in downtown Manteo to the festival gate all day. A FREE shuttle is provided from the Manteo High School on Friday & Saturday.

How much are children’s tickets?

Children 10 and under are FREE with a paid adult.

What time do the gates open?

The festival gates open at 11:00 AM each day.

When and where do we pick up our festival passes?

The earliest you can pick up your festival passes and merch is at 10AM on Wednesday, October 15th at the pavilion located in front of the Bluegrass Island Trading Company.

What do I need to get into the festival?

You will need to provide your Simpletix email with barcode OR your Bluegrass Island receipt with confirmation number. If you cannot locate your tickets you will need to bring a photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the tickets.

What is the earliest I can set up my chairs at the festival?

If you have a 3-Day festival pass you are granted early entry on Wednesday as soon as 2PM. All others may enter when gates open each day. Chairs may be left over night during the 3 days. Please DO NOT put chairs out before this time or it will be removed from the lawn.

Can we leave and return?

You can come and go throughout the day up until 7PM. After 7PM if you leave you cannot re-enter.

Can I bring ‘outside food and drinks’ inside the festival?

No, you may not. However, we have plenty of food vendors located within festival park (and local restaurants within walking distance) A variety of Beer & Wine is sold on site. One sealed bottled water is allowed and food for special dietary needs.

Can we bring a bag inside?

Small bags are permitted but will be checked by security at the gate.

If we just can’t make it this year, can we get a refund on our tickets?

No, we do not give refunds for any reason. However, our ticket policy states, “If you cannot attend for any reason, you will receive credit towards the following year’s festival”. As long as the ticket has not been scanned in at the festival it will be good for the following year. If the credit is not used the following year from which it was purchased it then becomes void.

Can I bring my pets inside for the festival?

No outside animals are allowed UNLESS it is a service animal with proper documentation.

Are there bathrooms located on-site?

There are indoor bathrooms located at the back of Roanoke Island Festival Park, in the museum building and there are portable toilets within the festival area.

Can I bring an umbrella/ pop-up tent/ canopy chair?

Umbrellas, pop up tents, and canopy chairs are not allowed inside the festival. If you do have a canopy chair (one with an attached, overhanging sunshade above your head) you must sit in the back – be mindful of the people behind you. There are shade-providing trees on the back of the lawn as well as a large tent.
