by James Thomas Sr. Donesia Gause was sworn in as the fifth Carson City Council member at a ceremony held at the Juanita Millender McDonald Community Center on Friday, September 11, 2015. The swearing in ceremony of the former City Clerk was a gala event attended by many of the Councilwomans friends, family and colleagues. Councilwoman Gause was

honored by Captain Chris Marks and the Carson Sheriff station, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and several local and state government officials. Councilwoman Gause was administered the oath by her “accountability team,” a dynamic group of women the councilwoman said “were more than friends.” “I consult with these ladies anytime I am faced with a difficult decision.” The Councilwoman continued, “I am ready to do my part to help Carson move forward and live up to its “Future Unlimited” motto.

By Angela Jackson MS After receiving complaints from 7 employees against City Clerk Jim Dear, the City Manager Kenneth Farfsing felt compelled to seek out an independent investigation to determine the validity of the allegations. “I asked them to bring in an independent investigator,” Farfsing shared. Farfsing stated that he called in an independent investigator because he did not want it to be personal. Farfsing shared he was looking for the truth and fairness. “I believe I had an affirmative duty to take action,” Farfsing concluded Farfsing explained that the investigator could not contact elected officials.
