The Great American Hobo

Moonlight flickers as train cars pass

The rails are relics of the distant past

The forgotten life of a Hobo

Fast disappearing down the westbound track

The peaceful life of a nomad

No house needed, the journey is centering

Steam engines replaced but the ground shakes the same Could never give up this life of adventuring

The sunrise bends with the rails

As the rails bend around the mountain

The light reveals a face weathered Resting upon a life’s belongings kept in a bag of satin

Battered and torn and pieced together

The bag and the Hobo share a bond

But the Hobo is thankful for the rails

For this life he has grown quite fond

The train cars are cleaner than the street

The train car inflicts no shame

The train car has little to offer but offers what he can

Can the rich man say the same

Is the Olivia Wild Slander Fair?

CNU Sophmore Weighs in on the Slander Surrounding Olivia Wilde as a Director

Most people have seen Ol ivia Wilde’s newest film “Don’t Worry Darling” as well as been aware of the public con flicts that occurred during the making of it. From the firing (or exit?) of Shia LaBeouf, the arguments with lead actress Florence Pugh, and the al leged affair with Harry Styles, the public have been well in formed about the controversy. It heightened at the premier when everyone involved made sure to keep their distance from one another. Due to the dramatic production process, this film is one of the rare in stances where the making of it is arguably more entertaining than the final product.

While Olivia Wilde defi nitely deserves blame for how she mishandled the situations she was a part of, is all of the criticism she has been facing online completely fair? While Wilde is not in the right, this is not the first time a director has had a bad relationship with the actors involved in their film. There are many examples in Hollywood where directors have done something similar to Wilde or worse (Woody Al len, David O. Russell, Michael Bay, etc) and gone on to have a successful career. Why should Wilde’s situation be treated any differently from the three mentioned?

While it is fair to say that Wilde could be difficult to work with on set, I believe that the slander has gone too far. She does not deserve to be end lessly scrutinized for what happened. Most celebrities get involved in negative drama at some point in their careers and more often than not, they move on with their lives. The only way this would not hap

pen is if it was a legal issue or if these types of situations begin to happen more often.

However, Wilde could have helped her case if she admitted that Shia LaBeouf quit “Don’t Worry Darling.” I understand that celebrities never want to admit when they are wrong but when there is a recording that contradicts their entire point of view, they should just be honest about what happened.

Despite all of the controversy surrounding Wilde and the cast of “Don’t Worry Darling,” the film has surprisingly done well at the box office, grossing $69.3 million worldwide against a $35 million production budget. With everything circling around this film, you would have expected it to fail miserably. However, there is clearly a demand for it wheth er it be due to the cast, story, or controversy.

The Downfall of Antonio Brown

From A Hero to A Laughing Stock

Antonio Brown has had his fair share of controversies, from his destruction of a ho tel room to allegedly sexually assaulting a woman. However, nothing could ever top this re cent scandal of his.

On October 1, 2022, Brown encountered further contro versy after it was revealed that he had exposed himself to a woman in the pool at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. Add ing further to injury, Brown swam up the woman in ques tion and became physical with her, smacking his butt across her face. Flabbergasted, the woman looked on in complete shock, unaware of what was even occurring to her.

While this may be the more egregious behavior that Anto nio Brown has conducted, this is just another in a long line of misfires, slowly sinking his once already rocky reputation.

Last season, during the game between the Buccaneers and New York Jets, Brown took his jersey, shoulder pads, glove, and shirt off and ran off the field into the locker room.

As a result of his wild antics, head Bucs coach, Bruce Ari ans, has gone on to infamous ly claim that Antonio Brown is ‘no longer a Buc’.

Well, just like Brown, he

always got something to say. A few days after the incident and the subsequent press conference by Arians, Anto nio Brown made the bold ac cusation that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were conspiring a cover-up. He would further go on to claim that he was suffer ing from a broken ankle which caused him intense pain and that coaching staff simply ig nored it.

As many sports news out lets likely knew, that week sev enteen game against the Jets would be the last time we see Antonion Brown play in the NFL. He was officially released from the team on January 5, 2022, and now a free agent.

Having so many high profile incidents makes one wonder: Is there something wrong with Antonio Brown? Has he gone crazy? Is he having a 2007 Britney Spears-style melt down? None of us could ever answer these questions and we may never will get one.

During Brown’s prime with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was known for not only being an explosive wide receiver but a consistent receiving threat overall with a very minimal amount of mistakes. With ru mors swirling around about potential CTE injuries, it’s

quite disappointing to see him running and wilding out, ruin ing his once stacked legacy.

As much as I (and my mom who adores him) would like for Antonio Brown, the seventime pro bowler to make a tri umphant grandiose comeback in the NFL, there is a very low chance that he will be back to securing those great catches and creating beautiful plays.

He has reached a degree of recklessness that no NFL team would want to sign him. Cur rently, he is exploring other endeavors like music and busi ness. In fact, legendary rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) named him president of West’s sports fashion line in February 2022 as a part of West’s creative content com pany, Donda Sports.

If Brown were to be signed to a team, more likely than not, Brown will do something against the rules of the NFL, resulting in another suspen sion and ruining the reputa tion of another NFL team.

While Brown has had an amazing legacy and is highly considered one of the best wide receivers to ever do it, it’s definitely time for Brown to stay out of the NFL for good this time.

After everything that you

have heard and read from this piece and the situation at hand, it’s important to rec ognize in this story the act of taking care of one’s mental and physical health. Both as pects of health are a crucial determinant to one’s success.

Especially in the world of Football, CTE can truly be a career ending injury and sad ly there is no better example of Brown. From his tense re lationship with the Steelers to the infamous shirtless walkoff of the Bucs and Jets games, Brown has single-handedly nearly burned every bridge that he can reach out to.

If there is any hope for An tonio Brown to make some type of recovery or even a return to professional sports, then Brown will need to find good people to surround him self with, like former team mates Tom Brady and Juju Smith-Schuster, and help him with his CTE before his opportunities and chances in the NFL vanishes entirely.

Every NFL watcher, player and enjoyer wants to see Brown succeed. I want to see him succeed. My mom wants to see him succeed, but at this point, succeeding may be a thing of the past for Antonio Brown.

On This Day in Sports October 19, 1961

Philadelphia 76’s Legend, Wilt Chamberlain began an iconic 126 consecutive game streak where he scored 20 points or more. This streak also accounts the famous 100-point game against the New York Knicks. Additionally, the streak involves a seven game span of Chamberlain scoring 50 or more points. Although, the streak ended on January 19, 1963, he become the only NBA player to have averaged 30 points throughout the course of his entire NBA career.

A Legend Fighting in a Better place

Antonio Inoki held many titles in his long life. Wrestler, promoter, martial artist, MMA fighter, trainer, an even politi cian, and legend. Inoki passed away. However, none of those could compare to the title: Leg end. Anotonio Inoki passed awa age of 79 on October 1st.

During his lifetime, he has faced down some of of the world’s most legendary ath letes. Inoki has gone up against figures like Muhammad Ali, Ric Flair, and even Saddam Hussein. He has left his mark and an im pressive legacy in every field he found himself in. In his home country, he is credited as being a pioneer of Japanese wrestling and mixed martial arts.

Inoki was born in Yokohama, Japan in 1943. He was an athlete early in his life and won region al titles in Japan and in Brazil when his family moved there for a period of time. At the age of 17 he met Korean-Japanese wres tling star Rikidōzan, who made him his protege and trained him in pro wrestling.

After training under Rikidōzan, he made his de but in 1960 for JPWA and excelled as wrestling grew in popularity in Japan. After Rikidōzan’s shocking murder, Inoki sought to continue his mentor’s legacy by forming New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Inoki’s accomplishments in wrestling are exceptional. He was a three-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and one-time WWE World Cham pion. He is the only Japanese wrestler to have won both titles (despite WWE not rec ognizing his reign).

Aside from his achieve ments, Inoki had stunning and tense feuds with Big Van Vader and Hulk Hogan in Japan. He faced Ric Flair in a match in North Korea in one of the most unbelievable events in the history of wres tling.

He retired from pro wres tling in 1998 and was in ducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010. Since his pro-

wrestling days, he has trained numerous wrestlers including Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuyuki Fujita, and Keiji Muto.

Inoki’s biggest achievement was hosting fights that became the precursor to modern MMA. He was trained in shoot wres tling and karate and fought op ponents of all styles. His most iconic bout was his 1979 fight against Muhammad Ali.

The brawl was unusual for its time as Inoki kicked Ali in the legs repeatedly and the fight ended in a draw. In its time, the fight was hated in its time but has since become a cru cial moment that inspired the rising sport. The Ali vs Inoki fight inspired the formation of MMA companies, Pancrase and PFC, the latter of which is now owned by UFC. The stage was set for MMA’s international meteoric rise.

Outside of the Japanese Wrestling realm, Inoki served in the upper house of the Japa nese parliament from 19891995 and 2013-2019.

In his political career, he sought peace and negotiated for the release of Japanese hos tages from Iraq and North Ko rea. He converted to Islam in the 90s and changed his legal name to Muhammad Inoki.

Antonio Inoki was a national idol in his home country. Thou sands came out to support him in his numerous endeavors in every field. Many wrestlers and fans sought to have Inoki slap them as they believed he could transfer his fighting spirit to them.

Thousands expressed their grief due to his passing includ ing WWE, NJPW, his students, peers, and millions of fans around the globe. To those that knew him best, he will always be remembered as a pioneer, an entertainer, a lover of peace, an exceptional athlete, a teacher, and an icon.

May Antonio Inoki rest in peace.

Blonde Brings Forth a New Meaning to the Dumb Blonde Trope.

The new movie on Netflix about icon Marilyn Monroe

Have you ever heard a dumb blonde joke?

You may believe you have, but un til you have watched the 2022 movie, ‘Blonde,’ starring Ana de Armas as a fictionalized interpretation of Mari lyn Monroe then you have never truly seen, or heard, a proper dumb blonde joke.

The film opens with Norma Jean, or Marilyn Monroe, as a young child un der the care of her mentally ill mother and chronicles a story of her mother showing her a picture of her ‘father’, Norma Jean being abused and almost killed by her mother, taken to an or phanage by her neighbors after much protest from her, and eventually a ma jor time skip in which Norma Jean is now known to the world as Marilyn Monroe.

At this point the movie begins to slow down as it shows a story of Mari lyn’s life from being sexually abused repeatedly, her relationships with sev eral real-life people, her marriages, her miscarriages, her abortions, her in ner conflict with fame, addiction, and more.

The movie ends with Marilyn’s suc cessful attempt on her own life with a disturbing scene of her lying dead for days, wrapped around a telephone cord.

of the movie. Firstly, Ana de Armas. Ana de Armas is an amazing actress who really embodied a lot of aspects of Marilyn Monroe and gave a truly out standing performance.

After watching this movie, I watched a few of her interviews on YouTube and was entirely surprised to see that she had a Cuban accent and had not learned English until the age of 25! I was so shocked when I came to this discovery because she perfectly captures Marilyn’s breathy voice and mannerisms in her speech.

Again, I was truly impressed by her acting and even more so impressed with her ability to completely cam ouflage her own accent and taken on Marilyn’s; not many actors and ac tresses do so well at this skill of chang ing one’s accent and she did so more than perfectly. Ana de Armas is a true talent.

Secondly, the way that the movie was filmed and edited was so creative and unique. Never have I seen a movie shot in such an artistic way, that was made in this decade at least.

Of course there are many beautiful, breathtaking scenes in today’s movies but what “Blonde” does is different in the sense that is has fun.

not truly seem to be a call to the viewer to take notice of these assaults or bring awareness to them. Instead, it is just to show Marilyn Monroe being put into these awful situations repeatedly.

If the point was to be horrified and disgusted at these scenes, then it worked. These scenes didn’t feel like an attempt to shed light on sexual abuse, but rather a means to victimize Monroe throughout the movie.

Additionally, the only consensual on-screen sexual acts she engaged in were fetishized and almost porno graphic, and always involved her and two other men.

It is odd that the movie showcased her being sexually assaulted repeat edly, had her only consensual acts in the movie be a fetishized throuple ex perience, and then completely ignored any sexual encounters between her and any of her husbands.

The movie shows an obvious ten dency from the men in Marilyn’s life to objectify her and look over her opin ions due to her looks; however, there is such an irony in this because the writ ers have entirely exploited Marilyn’s life and the rumors about her life to tell a false, ‘entertaining’ tale.

her for this plot and reduced her to noth ing more than someone being victim ized.

For example, Monroe was a very wellread and smart woman as many have claimed, but this movie only speaks on this twice, briefly, and then continues with showing her abused and depressed. Every success that Marilyn has through out her life is overshadowed, in this film, by sorrow and pain.

While one may argue that this in fact a work of fiction, a story, and shouldn’t be taken too seriously it still uses the name and likeness of Norma Jean or Marilyn Monroe. It still disrespects her memory;. It still paints her as nothing but a victim of circumstance.

Marilyn Monroe may have suffered great tragedy and hardship in her life but she was anything but a woman reduced to being a victim. Not to speak for Mon roe but I truly doubt she would have been appreciative of this film and the way that it portrayed her, fiction or not, given this quote she gave during her final interview,

I emphasize the word “a” when refer ring to this story because I refuse to re fer to this story as the story of Marilyn Monroe’s life. This movie was based off of the book, “Blonde,” by Joyce Carol Oates. The book is a work of fiction us ing events and rumors about Marilyn to tell a story about her life.

While I have not read the book, I have seen this movie and am hoping that at least the book is more tasteful and respectful of Monroe’s legacy.

To preface, I had heard of the con troversy surrounding the movie be forehand but really wanted to enjoy the movie and give it the benefit of the doubt. Multiple ‘die-hard’ fans of Mari lyn Monroe have spoken out against this film as exploitative, obscene and distasteful. Despite this, I went into my watch with an open mind, wanting to give it a good chance.

Now before I continue with my cri tique, I must applaud some aspects

Many scenes are shot in a dramatic, almost cartoony, way with intense and quick closeups, black screens with white text, and essentially a lot of ele ments reminiscent of an older Holly wood film. I really enjoyed this aspect of the film and found it to be engaging when other parts were lacking.

Despite all this though, I would not recommend this movie or rewatch it. I think that it was a movie that despite being fictional was still in poor taste and quite disrespectful to Marilyn Monroe.

The movie centered more so around the men in Marilyn’s life rather than Marilyn. It chronicled her life through her relationships and interactions with the men in it.

Most of these interactions and rela tionships would turn sour and these men would objectify, sexualize, and abuse Marilyn. The film begins with an explicit sexual assault scene with many, many more following it.

While it is true that sexual abuse happens often in Hollywood, the graphic detail and quantity in which it is shown throughout this movie does

Many of the stories that take place in the movie, like her alleged affair with John F. Kennedy and her being in a throuple, were actual rumors pub lished by tabloids during Marilyn’s life and were never truly confirmed.

For a movie trying to shed light on her objectification and the atroci ties she suffered in Hollywood, it sure seems to use rumors made against her character as a means of plot develop ment.

Spoiler alert, for example the mov ie shows Marilyn having two forced abortions first by the studio she worked for and second by John F. Ken nedy’s network of people.

It has never been confirmed or de nied whether Marilyn Monroe has had an abortion and to portray her being forcefully strapped to a bed and hav ing the operation on her is in such poor tastes considering Hollywood’s history of having abortion clauses in young women’s contracts and Mari lyn’s own history of miscarriages and infertility caused by endometriosis.

The writers completely overlooked Marilyn’s more than interesting enough life on its own and exploited

“Please don’t make me a joke. End the interview with what I believe. I don’t mind making jokes, but I don’t want to look like one… I want to be an artist, an actress with integrity… If fame goes by, so long, I’ve had you, fame. If it goes by, I’ve always known it was fickle. So at least it’s something I experienced, but that’s not where I live.”

— Marilyn Monroe, Her last taped in terview, with Richard Meryman, pub lished in LIFE magazine a few days before her death. (3 August 1962)

Wakanda Forever

A new horror movie for the Halloween season

What to expect with the new Black Panther trailer

Hocus Pocus 2 The Sanderson Sisters Are Back!

Black Panther: Wakan da Forever is finally go ing to hit theaters on November 11th. Many worried if the film was even going to be released after pandemic delays and the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman. But finally an official trailer has been released and fans are thrilled to see what happens.

Not many details of the plot were revealed in the trailer thankfully. It avoids the current trend of trailers giving away most of the plot. What we do know of the plot is that Marvel has elected to kill off Chadwick Bose man’s T’Challa instead of recasting the role.

The film follows the leaders of Wakanda that we met in the first film as they fight to protect the nation in the wake of T’Challa’s passing. We’ve all but confirmed that the new Black Panther is T’Challa’s sister Shuri, played by Letitia Wright.

In the comics, Shuri’s takes the mantle of Black Panther after her brother

is injured.

We will see the re turn of various char acters from the first film; M’Baku (Winston Duke), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), Queen Mother Ramon da (Angela Bassett), and Okoye (Danai Garcia).

We will also see more of the Dora Milaje as they fight to protect Wakanda from new threats. We will also see the MCU debut of RiRi Williams, known to fans as Ironheart.

Ironheart debuted in comics only 6 years ago but has quickly become popular among fans, she will be played by Dominique Thomas.

We get more looks at the film’s antagonist, Namor. Namor is one of the oldest characters in Marvel history.

In the film, where he is played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, he is the king of the un derwater civilization of Talokan. We see fights

between Wakandan and Talokan warriors. Namor leads the charge, seemingly invading Wakanda with his army.

He’s been described as a “misguided ally” as opposed to a villain in his battle with Wakanda. It’s going to be fas cinating to see what Huerta does with the role.

The trailer is also just a spectacle in and of itself. In credible shots set to the tune of Zambia rapper Sampa the Great’s “Never Forget” and other parts of the movie’s score. The final shot of this incredible trailer sees the new Black Panther land si lently, our first full look at her before the movie’s release.

Black Panther:Wakanda Forever release in theaters on November 11th. It will be the final film of Marvel’s Phase 4.

The Sanderson sisters are back and better than ever in Hocus Pocus 2! The long awaited se quel to the beloved 1993 Halloween movie was released on September 30th, 2022 and it had many expectations to live up to.

Even though it was not directed by the original director, Kenny Ortega, Anne Fletcher was able to add a more modern and personal touch to the movie.

Much to the fans’ de light, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprised their roles of Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson. Even Doug Jones returns as Winifred’s alleged exlover Billy Butcherson.

In true Disney fashion, Hocus Pocus 2 is a some what cheesy story about the importance of love, family, and friendship. The movie begins with a flashback to Salem in 1653, giving the viewer a glimpse into the Sander son sisters’ past and how they became witches. It also gives a backstory into why

Winifred does the terrible things that she does. Taylor Paige Hen derson, who plays 16 year old Winifred, has been praised for her un canny impersonation of Midler’s Winfred.

Her costars, Nina Kitchen and Juju Jour ney Brener, who played young Mary and Sarah also nailed their im personations of Najimy and Parker.

Back in the present, two best friends acci dentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters 29 years after the events of the first movie with a birthday ritual gone wrong.

The Sanderson sis ters are given another iconic entrance, this time through song. The friends, Becca and Izzy, must find a way to stop the witches before they wreck havoc on the world.

Also, the plotline of the witches possessing a crowd through music and dance never fails. This time, they use the song One Way or An other by Blondie and

The Loss of Two Entertainment Icons Remembering Angela Lansbury and Robbie Coltrane

This past week, the world sad ly lost two legendary and iconic actors who have rightfully earned their place in entertain ment history and will hopefully be remembered forever.

Dame Angela Lansbury and Robbie Coltrane may be very different actors, yet they will still leave a legacy for years to come. Angela Lansbury was an Irish-British actress with a ca reer spanning eight decades, much of it in the United States.

She recently passed away at the age of 96 on October 11, 2022 but people continue to watch and admire her on the screen. Some notable works in clude the portrayal of Mrs. Potts in the original 1991 Beauty and the Beast where she sang the title song and also the popu

lar crime series Murder, She Wrote which ran for over ten years.

In addition to her film and television work, Lansbury was also incredible in theater and starred on Broadway and the West End several times and even was nominated for multiple Tony Awards over the years.

She is probably best known for being the original Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd on Broadway and the original Rose in the musical Gypsy, also on Broadway.

Referred to as the “First Lady of Musical Theatre” by the New York Times, Angela Lansbury was an incredible performer and a part of many people’s lives through child hood to adulthood. In 2013,

she won an Honorary Acad emy Award for her lifetime achievements and the Oscar statue is inscribed with the words:

“To Angela Lansbury, an icon who has created some of cinema’s most memorable characters inspiring genera tions of actors.”

Robbie Coltrane passed away at the age of 72 on Oc tober 14th, 2022 and he was a Scottish actor best known for his portrayal of Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter films.

In addition to Harry Potter, he also played the role of Val entin Zukovsky in the James Bond films GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough. Robbie Coltrane was a huge part of many people’s child hoods and did a magnificent

job of bringing the character of Hagrid to life with his com forting presence and gruff but sweet personality.

He was a gentle giant through and through and the Harry Potter cast has not hes itated to release statements about how wonderful of a person Coltrane was and the impact he had on their lives.

Fans also took to social media to both express how heartbroken they were and to send condolences to Col trane’s family. In an interview during the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hog warts, Coltrane talked about his feelings toward the mov ies with a beautiful quote that feels even more haunting now that he has passed.

“The legacy of the movies is that my children’s generation

there is a choreographed dance as well.

Whitney Peak, who played Becca, and Belis sa Escobedo, who played Izzy, portrayed their roles well.

Obviously, the second movie does not have the complete nostalgic feel ing of the first one which made fans a little disap pointed. However, that does not always mean it is a bad movie.

The story was a good continuation of where the first movie left off. Sure, it had its cheesy moments, as all Disney movies do, including the original Hocus Pocus.

The plot was com pelling and it balanced sticking to the original and adding new ideas well. Making the sis ters more humanized and delving deeper into the magic plotline really disconnected the sequel from the original and made it stand out.

It’s definitely worth the watch this Halloween even if only to hear the sister’s amazing vocals once again.

will show them to their children, so you could be watching them in 50 years’ time, easy. I’ll not be here, sadly, but Hagrid will.” After all, there’s no Hogwarts without Hagrid.

Spooky Music Genres

Staff Writer ranks the 6 spookiest genres of music

1.Doom metal

Doom metal is charac terized as heavy metal with slower tempos, low tuned guitars, and haunting sounds. Instead of feeling pumped up or excited like most metal, you feel dread and impending doom in the words of the vocalist and sounds of the instrument’s thickening beat. There’s only despair and terror in this genre. As gloomy as that sounds, it’s a fascinat ing genre and hypnotic. Artists include Church Of Misery, Trouble, Woods of Ypres, and The Gates of Slumber

2.Horrorcore

Horrorcore is one of rap’s most controversial sub genres. Mixing hardcore rap and horror themes, the music is intense and hard hitting. Horrorcore songs have been described as “mini horror films on a hip hop beat” and they can cer tainly scare as well as en

tertain you. Artists include the Insane Clown Posse, Necro, Twiztid, Esham, and Wolfpac

3.Horror Punk

Misfits are probably the most recognizable band of this genre. With a blend of punk, rockabilly, and themes from horror and sci fi films, horror punk capti vates you with both the ter rifying and undeniably fun music that it produces. It has stood the test of time as a genre too. You won’t re gret dipping your toes into this bizarre world. Artists include The Misfits, Mur derdolls, Plan 9, Creeper, and Blitzkid

4.Witch house

This mysterious genre of electronic music blends a variety of electronic sounds like industrial and dark wave to create a unique type of music. The aesthet ics of witchcraft and occult ism are glued to this genre

and the aura of mystery is never lifted with witch house music. It remains one of the smallest subgenres of electronic music but with a devoted following. Artists include Salem, Ritualz, Crim3s, and Crystal Castles

5. Death metal

The actual genre of death metal is very horror inspired. Cannibal Corpse lead vocalist Corpsegrinder described his band’s music as essentially being mini horror films. Death metal is characterized as gruesome lyrics, distorted instru ments, and deep vocals. It remains a top genre of met al and one of its most glori ously terrifying. Some great death metal bands include Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Death, Entombed, and Obituary

6.Horror movie soundtracks

If you wanna be scared while listening to music,

throw yourself into the bel ly of the beast and listen to the soundtrack of your fa vorite horror film. Immerse yourself in the experience. Music is part of what makes the movies so terrifying. Some good ones are the soundtracks to Halloween, Suspiria, Us, The Shining, and Candyman

Movie Time Munchies

Seven movie foods other than popcorn

It is INARGUABLE that popcorn is the quintes sential movie food. It is synonymous with movie theaters and movie watch ing experiences. If nothing else is sold at the theater besides the movie tickets, there’s popcorn. But what if you’re not in the mood for popcorn? What if you’re desiring something else? What movie foods are ap propriate if you don’t want popcorn?

NOTE: These foods don’t always apply at theaters. But can always apply to watching films at home

1.Candy

There’s two things about candy and movies, it’s al ways gonna be sold at the aters and you’re always gonna be angry about how expensive it is. Sweets are good but something about candy in its small simplic

ity, make it a perfect movie food. It’s not likely to make a mess and it will satisfy the sweet tooth. Certain types of candy don’t work like cotton candy or rock candy, but ones like M&Ms and Ju nior Mints do.

Note: Candy goes well with mysteries and rom coms, not sure why, it just does

2.Pretzels

Pretzels are better than chips with movies and here’s why. Pretzels are less likely to make a mess or leave residue on your hands. Plus pretzels are pretty much bread pop corn. Small, eat it with your hands, you put salt on them, and typically eat it in bowls. They can be indis tinguishable. They’re also simple and can be shared. Also just like popcorn there are many types of pretzels

3.Pizza Pizza is America’s pre miere party food. Friend gatherings almost always have pizza. It just works well. If you’re watching a movie with your friends, consider splitting a pizza. It makes perfect sense.

Note: Action and slasher films go well with pizza, again i’m not sure why, they just do

4.Nachos

Movie theaters are infa mous in the fact that some how they cannot make good nachos. But nachos in concept are a fun movie food. They’re more messy than other foods on the list but if you’re looking for a good time, as well as a good movie watching experi ence, go with Nachos. You can add as many or as little things as you want to add to the nachos to make it work.

Note: The movie Pineap

ple Express works well with nachos, you know why.

5.Berries

In the mood for fruit? Berries work as a perfect and mostly healthy substi tute for popcorn. Get any type of berries (Strawber ries, Blueberries, Blackber ries, Mulberries, etc) and put them in a bowl. Add yogurt and granola to the bowl if you’re into that. Berries can give you the simple hand grab that pop corn does and the sweet ness of candy. It may seem odd at first, but it works if you want a healthy option for your movie watching experience

6.Trail mix

“That’s hiking food” WRONG. IT’S AN EVERY THING FOOD. It’s a great movie food too. You can combine whatever you want with granola and call

it trail mix. There are no rules. Get a bowl, get gra nola, get whatever else and boom trail mix. Once you’re actually eating it while watching the movie, it’ll be just like popcorn and you’ll enjoy it.

7.Mozzarella sticks

Mozzarella sticks are just really underrated. You get mozzarella sticks and mari nara sauce and you have a nice warm snack to go with your movie. It’s a good ap petizer and it just is a mix of cheesy, salty goodness for your fun movie experience.

Honorable men tions: Fried pickles, hot dogs, muddy buddies, and Rice Krispies
