Juanita Staton saw the Jeep coming just in time to grip the bottom of her seat. A car crash jolted the bus. The Jeep had slammed into the left side. Four passengers were thrown from their seats. Juanita was one of them. “I panicked. The driver and everyone started yelling,” Juanita said. She had curled her fingers around the seat as tightly as she could as the Jeep approached. But the force of the crash knocked her to the ground. Passengers screamed. They lay pinned to the floor. Juanita could not move. She could barely comprehend the chaos around her. Pain seared through the left side of her body. She had fallen on her hip and laid on the floor in total shock of the crash. It was supposed to be an ordinary day. juanita continued on page 3
