Stephanie McGovern has volunteered with The Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive for more than 15 years. Each year, hundreds of families in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia collect food items from their surrounding neighborhoods. The donations are then delivered to a central location, where more than 40-plus local pantries and food banks pick them up.
For decades, Kathy Cravedi has volunteered on projects and publications for The Children’s Inn at National Institute of Health, a residential facility that allows families with seriously ill children to stay free of charge.
The Burr Group takes great pride in its association with the Children’s National Medical Center. Through the Children’s Club, which Corey founded, The Burr Group frequently sponsors blood drives at the hospital to help save the lives of seriously-ill, young patients.
Corey has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Washington for more than 30 years, having served as president in 2000-2001. The Kiwanis Club promotes hands-on service to children in need in the region, including an orthopedic clinic at Sibley Memorial Hospital and a strong relationship with River Terrace Education Campus, the DC public school for students with the greatest needs. Corey also serves as a trustee for the Kiwanis Club of Washington Foundation, which financially supports club charities.
Mary Alice Swengros has been a Dame of Malta since 2000, making several trips with the annual Lourdes Pilgrimage to the Shrine in France with our beloved Malades which is to provide support to the sick and poor. Also she is a financial supporter to Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem, which provides care to women and children of the Holy Land. She is also actively working in prison ministry with a Malta Pen Pal Program in an effort to reconcile men, women, and children with themselves, God, the church and society.
Corey serves as a trustee for the James C. Dulin Goodwill Industries Fund which supports Goodwill of Greater Washington and Goodwill Industries International in their critical missions.
