icinity Apartments are part of a new residential development within walking distance of a major transport hub south of the river. Located in Cockburn Central, Vicinity Apartments consists of a combination of 96 one bed/one bath and two bed/2 bath apartments, 10 commercial lots and an internal 3-level car park. Construction started in July 2014, and the site was developed in one stage but settled in two stages. The first stage of 30 apartments/5 commercial lots and the parking was completed by October 2015. The second stage followed on whilst Stage One residents were already enjoying their stylish apartments.

Built within an existing residential area, consideration had to be given to each stage of construction in order for a seamless transition and minimal disruption. This created a set of unique challenges, such as crane movements, noise, deliveries, material storage and location of site office amenities, as well as the priority of creating safe outdoor areas that could be used by residents while the second stage was still being constructed. Timing was critical, and consideration also needed to be given to providing optimum time for trade transition between stages.
