My creative works utilize a strong sense of design, honed while obtaining my Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and Masters Degree in Furniture Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I appreciate every aspect of design, from the packaging to the user experience. I am interested in exploring the benefits of a circular economy in design and I enjoy projects that challenge me. Remaining compassionate towards the environment and making design accessible to all economic classes are at the forefront of my larger mission. COffee TabL e
A coffee table inspired by the work of George Nelson. The bench’s rectilinear lines reflect his architectural sensibilities, as well as his insistence that a design should make an honest visual statement about an object’s purpose. Solid wood slats that have been sorted with contrasting finishes were assembled by hand and sealed with a clear-coat finish. The slats settle neatly into lap joints on one end and miter joints on the opposite end, making the bench as durable as it is arresting.

Ou TDOOR BENCH INSPIRATION:
Fabricate an object that responds to an accessible space in Savannah, GA.
This bench was designed for the Pin Point Heritage Museum. Pin Point Heritage Museum is located in the former A.S. Varn & Son Oyster and Crab Factory. The community was founded in 1896 by freedman after the Civil War. The former factory has been transformed into an educational center for visitors to authentically learn about the Gullah/Geechee culture directly from residents who grew up in the small, close-knit community.
