BASKETBALL ACADEMY

The programme is tailored towards different age groups alongside their current and pre-existing knowledge and skills in Basketball. knowledge, and values in sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline. Children enrolled in the programme have access to play in local leagues and invitational meets. The programme will be facilitated by local basketball players, coaches and will be headed by seasoned Global Coach Catalino (Jojo) Arpon of Olympic Solidarity FIBA (Asia – Bahrain).

SWIMMING ACADEMY

The Academy also offers Pre-Squad and Squad groups for the more experienced swimmers looking to further their technique, endurance, and strength. The Adult Learn to Swim programme is also offered to more mature students wishing to learn to swim or gain confidence in the water.

Babies Programme

Our Babies Programme is a great introduction to water that provides an amazing bonding experience for parents and their babies. It is specially designed to teach water safety and awareness by making use of toys, games, songs, motion and verbal communication. Our Baby classes are split into 3 levels, depending on your child’s age.

Adult Swimming Classes

Programmes for beginners, intermediate and advanced swimmers take place weekday evenings, depending upon demand.

Pre-Competitive and Squad

Pre-Competitive sessions are 45 minutes where students do drills to prepare them for Squad and competitions. They will improve on all their skills and work on turning techniques and diving.

Squad sessions are 1 hour and are designed to attract able swimmers who are looking to further their technique, endurance and strength. They will develop their talent and technique and have an opportunity to participate in small competitions against other organizations

Dolphins will develop their breathing skills and will be introduced to backstroke, breaststroke, the butterfly kick and diving. They will work over a distance of 25m.

Sharks

Sharks aim to strengthen freestyle and backstroke and fine tune their breaststroke skills. They will be introduced to the full stroke of butterfly and will work over longer distances.

BAHRAIN TENNIS ACADEMY

We are excited to announce the continuation of BTA's leading tennis programs at the BSB. Students of all ages and levels can learn and improve their tennis with an experienced international coach at the BSB campus.

Since 2000, BTA coaches have been raising the level of tennis instruction on the island. Coach Riyad, a former top 10 player from Algeria, has recently joined the team from Canada where he worked with a wide range of players, including the No 2 14&U player in the nation. He brings a wealth of experience that he’s been sharing with his students

Launch Pad (3 to 6 years old)

Our LP classes focus on developing our littlest players' gross motor skills through fun challenges. These basic skills will form the foundation of their future development in all sports including tennis.

Red (6 to 8 years old)

Our Red players play on the 36' (mini) court using red balls. Learning sound foundational tennis skills here is crucial to eventually becoming a competent full court player. Our expert coaches will teach them the right way to play from the start.

Orange (9 years +)

Our Orange players play on the 60' (3/4) court using orange balls. This important stage will prepare students to transition to the full court. Players are divided based on skill level.

TAEKWONDO ACADEMY

Taekwondo, the traditional art of self defense. While it is important for a child to realize his or her ability to defend himself/herself, it is more important for them to learn the values that are taught with the sport to help him or her develop into a well-rounded adult.

Children are taught respect, courtesy and self-control while participating in a well-rounded exercise program. As students of the martial arts, children build confidence and self-esteem while they progress through the program. Each of these characteristics improves attitude and grades.

Children are focused on improving in the following areas: sincerity, respect and self-control, individual effort and self-confidence, character and self-esteem, and concentration.

As part of our program, there are visible rewards including different coloured belts that are symbols of ever-increasing levels of expertise in the martial arts.

All classes are supervised by Chief Instructor (Sabum Nim) Fadi Humaidan who holds a 5th degree black belt from the World Taekwondo Federation and has an impressive 20 years’ experience in teaching and competing for Bahrain. Students are encouraged to attend both sessions to help them pass their examinations and help them achieve a higher level.

Sunday and Tuesday: 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm (7 to 14+ years)

DRAMA ACADEMY

Want to develop your Drama skills? Want to just come and have some fun being creative? In these sessions, the students will be able to develop their acting, directing skills as well as developing creatively by exploring how to develop stories for an audience.

Timings

Wednesday: 3 pm to 4 pm.

LANGUAGES ACADEMY

The Language Academy offers Arabic, English and French tuition. Our tutors from the British School of Bahrain faculty identify the language proficiency of each child tailoring the language programme to suit each individual child’s needs. There will be a maximum of 8 to 10 students per class.

The language programmes focus on core skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing in the chosen language. It will be taught by highly qualified instructors. Children will take part in a variety of interactive in-class activities to expand their understanding of the language. Homework (optional but recommended) will be provided for those eager to study outside of class.

Sunday to Thursday: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (Arabic & English)

Twice a week after school during weekdays (French)

MUSIC ACADEMY

The Music Academy offers a unique opportunity for talented young musicians from beginners to advanced level to develop all aspects of their musicianship in a nurturing learning environment. The Academy provides a varied enrichment programme that supports the children’s ongoing development through the provision of instrumental and vocal lessons by our internationally qualified music instructors. Recitals are undertaken at end of term to showcase the improvement of each budding musician.

The Academy provides individual, shared or small group classes in the following instruments:

Sessions are also provided to prepare children for Trinity and ABRSM music exams including the Rock and Pop syllabus. Online and in-class sessions are available. For your child to make maximum progress, it is recommended that your child at least takes two lessons per week.

JUVENTUS FOOTBALL

ACADEMY

The Juventus Academy Bahrain students are trained by very qualified coaches, follows participants step by step programs, which are specifically designed taking into account the age and developments of attendants. ACADEMY Delelopment (6-18 years old) is a full year program including 2x weekly sessions. Our Academy Play BOYS & GIRLS will have the opportunity to train full time with Juventus approved licensed coaches under Juventus Methodology.

What do we mean by the “Juventus Way”? Following on from our philosophy, we aim to develop footballers through a vision which combines technical aspects with mental, emotional and interpersonal ones. Our methodology can be summarised in five points:

STYLE OF PLAY

Dictate proceedings, keep possession of the ball and stay calm. Focus on individual initiative and collective hard work.

TECHNICAL ABILITY

Honed through dynamic drills that aim to perfect every technical skill. The development of each individual player is placed at the heart of every exercise.

TACTICAL ABILITY

Run through several detailed individual and team match situations, to be alternated throughout the week.

MENTAL FACTOR

Train the individual to make effective decisions in match situations. Develop their speed of thought to adapt with changeable tactical and technical scenarios.

EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL FACTOR

Promote an identity fostering the values of sacrifice, bravery and teamwork, to be applied both on and off the pitch.

AENIGMA DANCE ACADEMY

Our vision extends beyond the conventional, aiming that every kid gains interest in performing arts, develops social skills, and discovers their uniqueness and skills through dancing. It is our mission to train budding artists to learn not only the art of dance, but also learn the discipline that can go beyond the studio, even if they won’t pursue a dance career.

International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA, UK)

Being one of the world’s most recognized dance curriculum and examination board, it has gained its reputation in the world of performing arts. It will serve as our guiding framework for class instruction. A mix of dance styles such as ballet, contemporary, and street dance will be taught in the class.

Aenigma Performing Arts W.L.L., founder and director, Aira Katrina Isleta Glorioso is an IDTA member since 2019. Our dance school can offer the opportunity to gain internationally recognized certifications.

Gaining the discipline and mastery of the art will take months, or years of rehearsals, Therefore, Aenigma will be responsible for the decision whether an IDTA exam will take place, and choose which students will be ready to take part in this.

Ofqual, CCEA, Qualifications Wales, RQF

IDTA graded and vocational graded qualifications are recognised by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) CCEA the regulator for Northern Ireland and Qualifications Wales, and appear on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Our Badminton sessions offers young children high-level sports tuition in our Badminton Academy from beginners to advanced levels. With ranked Badminton professional as coach, students benefit by learning techniques using the latest methods while having fun through a variety of fun drills and games.

Our qualified Badminton coach provide intensive Badminton and prepare children to participate inlocal tournaments. Classes are held Indoor.

The Advanced Proficiency Award

The Advanced Proficiency Award scheme is for children aged 11 years & upwards. It assists in the development of core fitness (Strength, power, flexibility, coordination) and gymnastics skills for the coaching of more advanced skills. The scheme offers a range of activities including Fitness, Floor, Vault & Rebound, Apparatus, Pairs & Groups, Handheld Apparatus and Dance & Aerobics.

Timings

Saturday: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Monday: 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm

Tuesday: 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm

Thursday: 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm

Green (11 years +)

Our Green players play on the full court using either orange or green balls depending on their stage of development. The slightly lower compression balls allow students the extra time they need to execute their shots as they continue to refine their techniques and adapt to the full court. Players are divided based on skill level.

Yellow (13 years +)

Our Yellow players play on the full court using yellow balls. Development players will continue to focus on developing their skills while experienced players will begin to shift their focus to tactics within points and strategies within matches to improve their performance in competitive situations.

Adult Cardio (16 years +)

Suitable for all levels of players. Cardio is a fun, heart-pumping, tennisbased workout set to music that also trains your tennis skills. You will hit a load of balls and burn more calories than just about any other activity. Little-to-no previous tennis experience is necessary.

Adult Clinics (16 years +)

Suitable for all players. Students are divided based on skill level. Beginners will be taught the basic techniques while players with experience will be taught how to take their skills to the next level and incorporate them into match play. Advanced players will work on advanced techniques and tactics through drills and point play.

IDTA MEDAL TESTS & AWARDS

The Association offers a wide variety of tests and awards including Rosettes, Stardance Awards, Pre-juvenile Groups Awards, Preparatory and Primary Grades; plus a wide range of medal tests in different genres, from one dance through Bronze, Silver and Gold medals and advancing through the Bars, Stars and President’s Awards to the International Supreme Award. For the medal tests and higher awards, the dances are choreographed by the teacher and build in length and complexity.

Ballet

Ballet is a classical dance form characterized by precise movements, graceful gestures, and intricate footwork. This class will be focused on developing proper posture, alignment, strength, flexibility, and musicality, while fostering a deep appreciation for the artistry and tradition of ballet.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is an expressive dance style that emerged as a mixed of traditional ballet and modern dance techniques. In this class, students will learn experimentation, improvisation, and personal expression. Also, contemporary dance emphasizes creative freedom, versatility, and individuality.

Street Dance

Street dance, a.k.a. urban dance or hip-hop, originated in the streets of urban communities in the U.S. during the late 20th century. The techniques in this class will include breaking, popping, locking, hip-hop freestyle, house dance, and krumping.
