F

rom beginning to end, the day was everything the bride and groom were hoping for. With friends and and family surrounding them, they were married at St Marouns Cathedral and celebrated with a reception at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf. Eva and Elie loved the idea of romantic elegance for their wedding theme but had no idea how to turn their dreams into reality. After gathering images of style and décor they made the decision to hire planner and stylist, Diane Khoury. From that moment onwards the planning process was a breeze, taking images and conversations they had then, creating magic with a number of talented suppliers. Doltone House was transformed and decorated with shades of plum, black and gold. “Every moment and detail was so memorable,” said Eva.

A

manda and Anthony met during high school, but it wasn’t until over ten years later that romance sparked. A date at one of their favourite restaurants in North Bondi and a walk down Ben Bucklers Point led to a very surprised Amanda. “He got down on bended knee and proposed with a beautiful ring he designed himself,” said Amanda. With a classic and elegant wedding theme in mind they decided on the Ivy Ballroom to cater for their 380 guests. Black, ivory and gold were used to decorate the space, with the use of candles and soft lighting to create the ambience they envisaged. The lead up to the wedding was very special for Amanda, putting her work as a designer into action. She partnered with Steven Khalil to bring her dream dress to life. The couple celebrated both family traditions with a catholic and orthodox service followed by an entertaining reception. Amanda also surprising Anthony with a live singer for their first dance with a compilation of songs including ‘The way you make me feel’ – Michael Jackson, ‘Mirrors’ – Justin Timberlake and ‘Young & Beautiful’ – Lana Del Ray.

ony organised a picnic to celebrate Joanne’s birthday at Brays Bay Reserve. By the water they amaz enjoyed amazing food, cake and of course Joanne’s favourite snack, fortune cookies. After blowing out the candles on her cake, Tony passed her a cookie. “I opened it to read my “fortune” he had arranged a note reading ‘will you marry me’ on the inside. At that point he had gotten down on one knee and was holding out my engagement ring. And of course I said yes. It was the happiest day of my life and I couldn’t stop smiling all night,” said Joanne. Their wedding day was definitely all about the florals “I wanted it to feel almost like you were standing in a garden of elegance.” They focused on using mostly white hues and set an ambience and feeling of romance with their lighting. The couple celebrated their day and had many special moments, walking down the aisle as husband and wife was a definite highlight. Joanne also loved wearing her gown and seeing it for the first time. Joanne’s advice “Have a plan. Focus on the true meaning of marriage and why you love them. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Most definitely remember to soak in the moment and ask someone to use your phone and take pictures/videos so you can have them as your own little memory.”

amantha and Michael met when they were just sixteen years old at a cultural festival. After being toget together for ten years Michael proposed on their anniversary, organising a trip to a resort in Wolgan Valley, “He had organised our villa to be decked out with candles and rose petals and when we came back from dinner, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was crying so much I forgot to say yes!” said Samantha. They decided on a vintage glam theme for their wedding day, using lots of neutral colours to achieve this. With their reception at Oatlands House, one of their favourite moments was their first dance as husband and wife to the song ‘All of Me’ by John Legend.

ianca and Johnny-Ray’s love story began over five years ago. From the moment Bianca met Johnnyn Ray she knew she had found the one to spend her life with, “I knew Johnny-Ray was the man for me as soon as I laid eyes on him. His smart, caring nature and good looks had me from the beginning. When he popped the question on pink cupcakes accompanied with a gorgeous ring I was speechless,” said Bianca. Their fairytale wedding consisted of a modern, sleek and sophisticated feel with a hint of spunk, which was also continued in Bianca’s bridal gown. Entrusting J’Aton Couture to create her dream dress, they didn’t disappoint, “My dress was a nude bodice encrusted in white beading mirroring a lace image, with white meshing between the layers.” Bianca’s sister also organised a special surprise for her having the wedding date sown onto one of the layers of the dress, adding that something blue. They celebrated at the Crown Hotel with a reception styled by WED on Beaufort.

rom the outset, Marnie and Michael’s relationship was full of fun. Michael charmed Marnie with fundrcfundraiser donuts and his phone number at a football game. The fun, warm and inviting nature their relationship was built on was exactly what they wanted for their special day. Relaxed and romantic with soft colour tones, including nude, white, ivory and greens. They were married at St Mary’s Church in North Sydney and celebrated with friends and family at Dedes on the Wharf. Marnie said, “The moment we walked in the door, we knew it was exactly us.” She wore a gown designed by Steven Khalil, after trying on many dresses Marnie kept coming back to the same fitted style. At her first consultation, she showed Steven a few ideas she liked and “right away his face lit up and he began sketching. He had so many amazing ideas. The dress he sketched for me was exactly what I wanted. It was such an amazing and exciting process, one I will cherish for a lifetime.”
