editor’s note It’s the second-most wonderful time of the year! (After the jolly season, if you were wondering.) My friends, Autumn is when I get my glad rags on, quite literally. I love nothing more than this prime opportunity for layering. Here on the Sunshine Coast, that basically means bringing cardigans and light scarves back in rotation and maybe – maybe – considering trading the old Birkenstocks for, like, closed shoes of some kind.

Happiness obviously derived from the state of not hot, not cold – it’s the Baby Bear porridge of weather climates. Just call me Goldilocks.

Creative Director, Alera Kingham, said about the relaunch party, “I was literally pinching myself throughout the night when I realised that so many people took the time to celebrate with us!”

Close to the city in Red Hill, the new store has two levels, featuring several separate spaces for brides and their shopping entourages to relish in the personalised experience.

Alera said the new space is as pretty as it is functional, “The look for the boutique was designed to reflect a modern way of bridal shopping while still maintaining elegance. What drew you to this career?

I started out studying Botany at UQ, but missed the people contact a laboratory life seemed to attract. I was naturally drawn back to flowers and nature's beautiful textures and colours when I was after some mental stimulation while on maternity leave. It was such a natural process - one day it occurred to me that I might be able to make money from my passion!

Do you have any weddings coming up, which you can't wait to sink your teeth into?
