editor’s note These past months I’ve been adventuring in Europe and the UK, and settling down in our new home town of Manchester (or Rainchester as the locals tell me!) All the while I’ve been continuing my work as the writer monkey for The Bride’s Tree blog, magazine and digital products. Being on the other side of the world looking in on the Sunshine Coast wedding community has given me a brand new perspective - quite literally! When we created The Bride’s Tree, it was with the image of the bride on the other side of the world planning her wedding in our region completely from her device.

The beauty of WhatsApp and FaceTime these days means I’m still only a phone call away, but I’ve predominantly continued to do all my work from my laptop - often from a local Starbucks, like right now! It’s given me such a great opportunity to put myself in that faraway bride’s shoes, and I have to say, it’s never been easier to plan a wedding remotely. Especially when we’re faced with such stunning inspiration as can be found in this very volume of our humble rag. For the free-spirited bride, there’s nothing quite so apt than getting wed amidst distinctly bohemian vibes. Our team took to the Yandina countryside and styled a summer wedding under a yurt, that is the stuff of modern boho dreams.

LAURA WEARS ‘Sophie’ by Erin Clare Bridal, an ivory a-line gown with layers of embroidered tulle over a nude underlay, and flattering v-neck.
TEXTURED WAVES were pulled back in a relaxed boho style, while her makeup was in keeping with the soft, summery colours used throughout the shoot.

GROUNDED WITH CRISP WHITES for a fresh summer colour palette, layered with neutral tones, soft blush and dusty rose, with mustard and burgundy accents.

ROMANTIC WITH AN EDGY BOHO FEEL was the order of the day. The floral design stole the show combining earthy, dried elements with abundant fresh florals. Orchids and premium roses were complemented by burgundy and neutral-toned foliage for on-trend vibes.
