editor’s note We’re always asking brides to lay on us their biggest challenges faced while wedding planning. Typically we’re met with a lot of the same concerns - Has the careful selection of vendors been the right choice? Have we strayed too far from the budget? Have we taken everyone else’s preferences too much into consideration and lost sight of our original vision? I wanted to take this moment to say to you - yes, maybe, and perhaps? But don’t worry! Here’s the thing - unless you’re a professional event planner, you’ve never done something like this before! And if it just so happens that you are in fact an event planner, you’ve not planned your own biggest day of your life before, so it’s natural for emotions to run high this time. I feel this will be relieving and helpful to anyone who not only shares some of these same fears, but is frightened to say them out loud. What’s that old saying - a burden shared is a burden halved? “Whenever I would envisage my future, I would think about where I would be living in ten years time, what career I would have, how many different countries I would have travelled to, if I would own my own home and how many children I would have. But one day, I realised that as long as I have Megan's hand in mine, all the rest doesn't matter.�

“Our biggest challenge was definitely the distance between our home and the wedding destination. Our home is a six-hour drive away from the Sunshine Coast, so we weren't able to easily meet face-to-face with our suppliers. Everything was mostly done over email. This just meant we had to instill a lot of trust in our suppliers to bring our vision to life.�
