Step Two LET YOUR MODEL MAKE THE FIRST MOVE An efficient way to do this is by letting the model start with their own poses first, then adjusting from there when necessary. It can sometimes help to look through magazines pertaining to the subject you are shooting to gain inspiration. If you, as a director, do not know what you’re looking for, then it’s going to be difficult for your model to hit the mark. Instead, go into the shoot with an idea in mind and find a way to translate that to your model for a more successful outcome.
