Engine block Among the several parts of the engine, the engine block is the backbone of the car.

The engine block has a house and machined surfaces that contain several components such as crankshaf, camshaf, and pistons. However, the engine blocks are machined with holes known as cylinders and contain 4 to 16 cylinders depending on the block size.

Pistons The pistons are generally used in the car engine for transferring the energy to the crankshaf created in the combustion cycle. Thus, the piston of the car has the piston rings which is used for sealing it properly as well as control the oil.

In many of the modern cars, the pistons are coated in a material that is preventing the friction that allows the pistons to last longer. During each revolution of the crankshaft, the pistons travel up and down in the cylinder twice. Throughout the process, the engine is rotating at 2500 RPM and traveling up and down 5,000 times per minute.

Camshaf According to the engine size and style of the car, the camshaft is located either in the engine block or cylinder heads. If the camshaft is placed in the engine block, then it defines the cam in the block engine. Moreover, the camshaft of the modern engine is located in the cylinder heads.

Thus, the modern engines are also known as a dual overhead camshaft or single overhead camshaft for performing up and down the rotary motion of the engine. The up and down movements of the engine are controlling the movements of the lifters and move rockers, pushrods, and valves. As it is supported by the series of bearing for lubricating the oil for maintaining engine life.

Crankshaf Like the other parts of the engine, the crankshaft is managing the lower section of the engine block. Thus, the crankshaft is commonly defined as a finely balanced and machined component of the car which is connected to the pistons through a connecting rod.

On the other hand, the crankshaft is performing the up and down movement of the pistons and converting the rotary motion or reciprocal motion most safely. In the car, the crankshaft is generally rotating the engine speed in a better way.
