FACT: Fat cells in the hypodermis provide a protective layer cushions the body against damage and insulates the body by retaining heat. Fat cells also provide a vital energy reserve when required by the body.
FACT: Sweat is produced in the skin when core body temperature rises. The heat of the skin evaporates the sweat producing a cooling effect on the body. Small amounts of waste products are also excreted with sweat.
