It gives you reassurance that there is fast and effective help at hand if you ever have an accident or get into difficulty.
The Assist alarm unit is designed to summon help, using your telephone line, if and when you need it – 24 hours, 365 days a year – enabling you to live as independently as possible.
By simply pressing a button on the unit or the radio button worn as a pendant, badge or bracelet, our response centre staff know who you are, where you live and are able to talk to you.
With our Assist alarm service, you have the security of knowing help is at hand – whenever you may need it.
You can activate the alarm unit from any room in your home using the radio button you are wearing. The microphone on the alarm unit is so sensitive it will pick up your voice from a considerable distance, even if you are in a different room. You do not need to pick up the phone.
When you press the button, it automatically dials the 24-hour Assist service, and connects you to our caring and professional staff who can speak to you.
Our staff will then send the necessary help and talk to you until it arrives. This may be phoning for medical assistance, the emergency services or your nominated contact, for example a relative, friend or neighbour who holds your house keys.
We can provide Assist community officers if you are unable to nominate three people living nearby whom we can call if you need help.
Assist is competitively priced and the alarm can be rented or bought. There is also a weekly charge for the monitoring service and any visits made by our Assist officers. Current costs are given on our website.
You may qualify for a free or discounted service depending on your circumstances. Please call us to find out more.
We will:
• install an alarm within three working days of receiving your application, or more quickly if you need it.
• answer alarm calls within 60 seconds.
• be at your home within 30 minutes if you require an Assist community support visit.

A key safe is a quick and easy way of keeping a spare door key in a secure but easily accessible place in case of emergency. The small container, fixed next to your front door, has a combination lock. It is particularly useful for the emergency services, Assist or Home Care staff and can prevent delays in reaching you.
We can also provide a Telecare service with a range of non-intrusive sensors which monitor your health and your home environment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This helps you to live securely and independently at home.
The sensors will alert a carer or our response centre at any time of day or night if a problem arises. Telecare also allows carers to take a safe break.
Some people’s jobs take them out and about on their own, and they do not have the security of having work colleagues close at hand. Our Assist lone worker monitoring service can provide reassurance and security for employers and staff who work alone and face potentially risky situations.
Our Assist service is easy and straightforward to use, allowing lone workers to be monitored by mobile
