WELCOME TO THE BARLASTON ESTATE
Set in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside, Barlaston Hall and St John’s at Barlaston Hall sit on 4.5 acres at the edge of the stunning Wedgwood Estate.
Our family home, Barlaston Hall, is an 18th-century Grade 1 listed manor house built in 1756 by notable architect Sir Robert Taylor as a place for entertaining guests, and we’re proud to say it’s still serving that purpose today.
Also sitting in the estate grounds is St John’s at Barlaston Hall, the original village church which was deconsecrated in the 1980’s and subsequently fell into disrepair, The church has been brought back to its former glory and offers a unique opportunity to hold non-religious ceremonies in an atmospheric old church building.

EVENTS AT THE BARLASTON ESTATE
For your annual awards dinner, a team building away day, or your Christmas get-together, the Barlaston Estate is the perfect space to hold your special celebration or corporate event.
We have three distinct spaces available for your exclusive use; Barlaston Hall, St John’s and the Estate Grounds.
The formal dining room at Barlaston Hall brings a sense of occasion to any event, be it a corporate dinner or a very special birthday celebration.
The maximum seated capacity is 66, and we can offer several table configurations to suit your event and the mood you are looking to create.
The library and reception hall are available as part of the Barlaston experience for your welcome and after-dinner drinks, providing useful breakout spaces.
Your event will be fully catered, we have a wonderful selection of food and drink menus to suit every occasion.
CORPORATE TEAM-BUILDING EVENTS AND AWAYDAYS
Strengthening client relationships and allowing your team to come together has never been more critical as hybrid working becomes the norm.
The Barlaston estate provides an inspiring venue for your client events, leadership awaydays or team-building activities; the Hall, the grounds, and the old church building are all available for your exclusive use.
Our in-house team will handle the catering, including a welcome breakfast to kick off the day, a buffet lunch, BBQ or a sit-down dinner.
Audio-visual technology is available for your event and team-building activities and whether it’s a treasure hunt on the Barlaston grounds, team games on the lawn, circus skills or wine-tasting, we’ve got you covered.
The old recently renovated church building is a truly flexible space; the vaulted ceiling, original church windows and discrete alcoves offer a unique space to suit all event types, formal gala dinners, special celebrations, team building events and even your AGM.
Maximum capacity is 100 seated or up to 300 for an informal event. Along with a variety of table configurations the church building can accommodate a bar, DJ, or band and dance floor.
THE ESTATE GROUNDS
The Estate grounds offer endless possibilities to experience the great outdoors, whether it’s a quintessentially English garden party, a summer BBQ or a fully catered marquee event. The 4.5 acre estate grounds provide a sense of freedom and adventure, from team games on the lawns to treasure hunts through the woods and secret pathways.
The Barlaston Grounds are available for guests’ exclusive use and give the additional opportunity to take your event outdoorsweather permitting!
The grounds can also accommodate a marquee for up to 300 people.

St John’s at Barlaston Hall is our deconsecrated church and sits within the grounds of the Barlaston Estate, a short walk away from the Hall and provides a rare opportunity to hold your non- religious ceremony in a beautiful historic 12th-century church building.
If you’ve always dreamed of a church wedding and prefer to have a non-religious civil ceremony, St John’s at Barlaston Hall will help make your dream come true.
Alongside the picture perfect church, the beautiful grounds of the Barlaston Estate are exclusively yours for your wedding photographs.
An intimate gathering or a bigger celebration – St John’s can hold up to 100 guests. Either have your wedding celebration at your own venue afterwards or if you prefer we can take care of the whole day for you. We partner with only the best suppliers who will work with you to create a magical day for you and your guests.
WEDDINGS & RENEWAL OF VOWS NAMING CEREMONIES
A non religious naming ceremony at St John’s allows you to celebrate one of life’s most memorable occasions in front of friends and family. We’ll organise your celebrant, or you are welcome to bring your own.
Afterwards, we can help you celebrate with a sit-down lunch, a more relaxed BBQ or afternoon tea. The grounds of the Barlaston Estate, including the wonderful woodland and gardens, are yours for photos.

At Barlaston we have an array of catering possibilities, a formal dinner, a celebration buffet, casual street food, a BBQ, or a quintessentially English afternoon tea; the choice is yours.
We work with you to create a fabulous menu, and we’ll pair it with the perfect wine and champagne list. The key is flexibility; of course, we cater to all food preferences and foodies!
