Welcome Home

It has been a long road since March 13, 2020, when the Theatre Charlotte staff made a plan to delay the opening of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and prepared for a few weeks of working from home. Of course, those weeks turned into months and, in the aftermath of the December 2020 fire, years. When we open the doors to our home on Queens Road in November, 991 days will have passed since the last ovation within these walls. Despite these unimaginable challenges, Theatre Charlotte has continued to inspire and entertain our community.

The numbers below only tell some of the story:

34 -

134 -

2038518,000+ -

Free, virtual shows and performances between April and October of 2020.

Total performances and events since March 2020.

Individuals that experienced a TC performance, either in person or virtually, since March of 2020.

Now our sights are set on the return home and our grand reopening in January. While we finish repairs to our building this Fall, you can experience a sneak peek at the progress as we kick off our biggest season in decades with Misery and A Christmas Carol. Season 95 has it all - beloved classics, local premieres, edge-ofyour-seat drama, laugh-out-loud comedy, and unforgettable soundtracks, along with a few surprises along the way. Experience the magic of live theatre unique to us because it was created by and for this community.

As we look to the future of Theatre Charlotte in our community, we invite you to find your place here. Laugh with us, sing with us, bring your family, friends and coworkers. Consider leaving your mark so that we can build on this legacy. This is only the beginning! So please, come in and let us never take these moments for granted.

Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, William Goldman’s spine-tingling adaptation traps you in the room with Paul as he must outsmart Annie if he hopes to escape.

Something Rotten!

When a soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, the Bottom Brothers set out to write the world’s very first musical. With 10 Tony® nominations, including Best Musical, Something Rotten! is a “big, fat hit!” (New York Post).

March 3 - 19, 2023

Four couples experience a severe attack of farce when they gather to celebrate one of the couple's tenth wedding anniversary. Bursting with scandal, mystery, and of course, side-splitting humor, this Neil Simon comedy "has nothing on its mind except making the audience laugh!" (The New York Times).
