from 15th october to 4th november 2008 theatercombinat presented "bambiland" by elfriede jelinek as a series of acoustic-choreographic interventions in the public space of vienna.
the text took over different choreographed and performatively used sound and
parabolic speakers on baggage carts, megaphones on helmets. arbitrator's chairs as observation choirs, television sets on trolleys - "tragödienchöre" (tragic choirs) consisting of 12 objects each.
the text was recorded on 4 tracks, following a speech score by claudia bosse. in different choreographies, with changing media and distributions of sound, the language was distributed among the objects, passages were repeated and arranged in layers over and over again and recorded as a chorus from one voice. the language became spatial, entered into a dialogue with itself and the city.
