Detailed Report on The Meeting between His Excellency, Dr. Khalif El-Inani, Minister of Antiquities Affairs in Egypt, His Excellency, Pr. Ahmed Mamaj, Minister of Culture of Egypt, and and His Excellency, Dr. Mohammed Ali Marim, the Ambassador of Egypt. The meeting was held on May 22, 2017 at 4 p.m. The Meeting addressed the following: -

Detained 13 Yemeni metal artifacts in Egyptian ports and airports, smuggled by traffickers from different backgrounds. A list featuring the names of the artifacts and the locations where the goods were seized are attached below with the purpose of preserving Arab antiquities and artifacts; Cooperation with the Egyptian party to restore Yemeni manuscripts and artifacts, under the supervision of the Egyptian state experts; Workshops for the Yemeni state employees on the tools to reinstate manuscripts and preserve artifacts, prepared by the Egyptian state experts; Contribution of the Egyptian party to the restoration of some Yemeni antiquities which have undergone deterioration due to the ongoing war in Yemen; Coalition against the illegal trade of antiquities between the friendly nations; Planning of bilateral meetings between antiques and manuscript specialists in order to identify the cultural artifacts of significant value; Protocol drafted by the Egyptian and Yemeni parties; Workshops for the Yemeni state employees on the tools to recognize, retrieve, and preserve illegal artifacts in accordance with UNESCO training on the prevention of illicit trafficking. Elaborate discussion focused on the recovery of the 13 metallic artifacts seized in Egyptian ports and airports. The artifacts will be stored safely by the Ministry of Antiquities in Egypt until the country of Yemen regains its stability. 7
