Between the Shadows - Beyond the Light
10 May - 8 June 2025
"Between the Shadows, Beyond the Light"
Phillip HOWe is a multidisciplinary artist of Celtic and Gooreng Gooreng heritage whose work bridges the physical and spiritual, the seen and unseen. With a practice deeply woven into sculpture, painting, and printmaking, HOWe’s creations pulse with rhythmic lines, bold sculptural forms, and abstract patterns, evoking the deep connections between nature, identity, and Country. In "Between the Shadows, Beyond the Light," HOWe invites audiences to look beyond surface and form—to explore the interplay of darkness and illumination, the spaces in between, and the dualities that shape existence. At the heart of the exhibition lies the Wild Dog, HOWe’s personal totem, a symbol of resilience, spirit, and the diverse energies that flow through the land.
Through vibrant hues and intricate compositions, this body of work challenges perception, encouraging viewers to embrace both contrast and balance, shadow and light, as essential forces of creation and self-discovery.
More than an exhibition, this is an invitation—to journey inward, to question what lies beyond, and to reconnect with the stories written in the land, the sky, and within ourselves.
