That is why everyone must remember what the great Acharya said – njefle efveces<eeled keÀeue: meJe&ced – that all these can be snatched away in an instant by time. At another place, Sri Shankaracharya says – keÀeceb ¬eÀesOeb ueesYeb ceesn l³ekeÌlJee Deelceeve YeeJe³e keÀesçnced – Give up lust, anger, greed, delusion and strive to know the Self.

Thus the Acharya did not stop with penning His Bhashyas on the abstruse aspects of Vedanta. He provided a number of instructions in His other works that are applicable to all of mankind. Indeed, this is why He is revered as a Jagadguru – one who has shown the path of welfare to the entire world. If anyone turns his back on these instructions, it is their choice. Who can stop one who digs a pit and plots his own downfall?

Hence it is left to each one of us to grasp the teachings of the Jagadguru and better our lives. May each one strive along this direction and attain Shreyas.

In July 2018 Kerala received unusually high rainfall. It was almost 250% more than what the state usually received. This led to the swelling of rivers, and in turn the dams filled up very fast.

There were also landslides because of loosening of the soil. Many dams had to be forced open and the flood affected many nearby villages and cities. Nearly 500 people died or were found missing because of the floods. This was a natural calamity of severe nature. R. S. Determining Balarishta OR The Infant Mortality |Dr. NemaniVenkataRaghunatha Rao Balarishta or infant mortality has been covered extensively in our classical scriptures. Dr. Nemani Venkata Raghunatha Rao is from Parvatipuram (Near Vizag), AP, India, lives in San Francisco, USA. Dr. Raghunatha Rao has been practicing Vedic Astrology since 2002. After taking the birth it is not uncommon that some newly arrived native's are met with terrible circumstances in the form of dangers, disease or even death. These 24 years are termed as: Balarishta from 0-12 years, and Yogarishta between 12-24 years. Sage Parasara later states that the Balarishta span is 8 years and Yogarishta is 12 years (9-20 years of age). Hence for a native of 8 years of age or younger the principles of Balarishta are fully applied, and the normal methods for calculating longevity such as Pindayu, etc, do not apply.
