BIC

With months of lost time due to bad weather our construction team has worked tirelessly to achieve where we are today. To date we have inducted over 180 into our on-site construction team.
The community building has been our focus and with the underground car park and rainwater storage tank in place, we are ready to complete construction of the first level.
The balance of the site has also had our attention with block laying and backfilling of our major northern boundary wall nearing completion.
Once this is complete the total site area will be transformed to reveal the Mosque building site and forecourt parking area.
One should not under estimate the enormity of this project and the commitment by the TFA team to reach their construction goals to date.
The heart of the basement car park and the first level is supported by 132 concrete columns.
99 of these columns will be signed with the names of Allah (SWT). You can donate one of these columns and create a heritage for your family.

The Mosque has been the central focus of the Muslim community. Indeed the prophets mosque in Medina was not just a prayer facility it was a multi-purpose family centred institution. That served as a school, a meeting place for sports events and other celebrations.
The vision of the Brisbane Islamic Centre management is to provide a place of worship and social interaction for Muslims and a place of learning and cultural awareness for non-Muslims.
Our verdant hope is that the teachings and the messages of Islam create a spirit of understanding and harmony for the Muslim community and the Australian society as a whole.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner to took time out from his busy schedule to visit our display centre, meet committee member, guests and tour the construction site.
Mayor Schrinner was impressed just how much had been achieved since approvals. He commented that it was a pleasure to see the facilities planned would be open to the community and in doing so would establish BIC as a landmark development for Brisbane.
Our challenge has been to create something contemporary, that retains the heritage of a Mosque yet can provide all the spaces for families to pray, play and share with the wider community of South Brisbane.
The generous 10 acres of land has allowed us to incorporate many features that an inner-city mosque just doesn’t have space for, like Janazah facilities and spacious ladies prayer areas.
I’m extremely proud of the focus on the family and in particular the youth facilities. Our vast basement area has enabled us to provide youth centres, gymnasiums, book shop as well as a state-of the art Madressa. Outdoors we have incorporated a café and children’s play areas.
Tariq Ali of TFA Constructions and Imran Ali of ISA Collective Design Team pride themselves in designing and building a multitude of different projects. This has been evident over the past years with TFA Constructions and ISA Collective being jointly involved in multiple projects around Brisbane, in particular meeting the needs of the growing Muslim community.
TFA has been engaged in the construction of the Brisbane Islamic Centre on the southside of Brisbane. This centre will include a Masjid, community hall, museum, offices, information centre, youth centre, serviced offices, library and car parks. With decades of combined experience, this family operated business is known to deliver some of the highest quality builds in the industry and was the winner of the Master Builder Awards in 2017, 2018, 2020 and two in 2022.
Behind this team is Tariq Ali, managing director of TFA and his father Saheed Ali, who have donated countless hours and resources in the aims of further serving the Muslim community by delivering this project. They have also worked alongside members of the community, such as the Deen family, to donate their time and resources to this project. Tariq’s brother, Imran Ali of ISA Collective, has also dedicated his own resources and time in the design of the community centre. In 2022, the Ali family completed the design and construction of the major refurbishment of one of the oldest mosque on Australia’s east coast, Queensland’s oldest mosque - The Holland Park Masjid, which too has won its own Master Builders Award in esteemed excellence.
TFA’s Team comprises of people with a variety of skill sets that allow them to stand out in the construction industry as they work tirelessly in the aim of delivering this project. In charge of managing and delivering the project are Craig Madden (Construction Manager), Daniel Tu (Project Manager), Ilyas Chemami (Contract Administrator), Daniel Mitchel (Accounts Manager), Randal Younger (Site Supervisor) and David Gimm (Site Foreman). Working together TFA aims to deliver this project to the community for present and future generations.

Sustainability and eco- sensitivity is at the forefront of both design and construction. To cater for ground and garden irrigation and grey water needs we have already completed a 200,000-litre water tank.
Internally, only the highest energy rated building materials have been specified with basement car park provisions for E Car charging also provided.
Social sustainability has also been addressed with facilities like a Library, Museum, Book Shop, Video, Theatrette and Coffee shop.
The Community Hall being open to all the community provides a platform for social sustainability in the form of gatherings, educational seminars, events and displays.
“Brothers and sisters. I am at the building site of the Brisbane Islamic centre. I cannot describe the excitement I feel seeing the construction 3 floors high. The car park foundational structure is complete. Now, It has taken us 15 years to get to this point. And it has not been smooth sailing. There have been many challenges and obstacles, including a 3 year long battle with council to get an approval. The court case came at a significant cost.
But Alhumdulilah, the directors persevered and together with our President Brother Faisal, who left no stone unturned to get an approval, and with the help of Almighty Allah, we succeeded. Now, we have 3 years in which to build this centre. This centre is not only a benefit to us, but for generations to come Insha’Allah. Those who are a part of its construction will gain the reward for every muslim that prays here.
So, I make this appeal to everyone, please donate generously. Almighty Allah will reimburse you. This centre is for you, and your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and whoever comes after.
This is YOUR Musjid.
Lastly, I want to stress, even though the land on which we are building, was donated by a Brisbane family (Almighty Allah reward them). This does not imply ownership of any nature. The land was placed into WAQAF and is now owned by the Musjid trust. The construction of this centre is a community project. Hence the reason we’re asking our Muslim community far and wide for assistance to realise our vision.
So, please open your hearts to one of the largest projects in Australia.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala (SWT) to accept from us this humble effort.
And we humbly ask you to make Du’a, for the successful completion of our Musjid complex, and please, donate.
Jazakumullah for your time.”
